The defamation campaign against Eritrea has spiked in the past few weeks for rather obvious and predictable reasons and underlying motives. This campaign, which has been going on for almost two decades now in the aftermath of the border conflict with Ethiopia, could not have gained traction in the first place without the support of certain countries. The playbook is boringly the same; utilize, for reasons of outward credibility, spurious and coordinated "testimonies" of handpicked Special Rapporteurs within the UNHRC platform; some obscure NGO's; and other narrow interest groups who have never set foot and are generally clueless about the country. As intimated above, the defamatory agenda is being resuscitated these days with more outlandish accusations and manufactured narratives. It was my pleasure to welcome H.E. Dr. Fatumanava-o-Upolu III Pa’olelei Luteru, Permanent Representative of #Samoa to @Eritrea_UN. We discussed ongoing processes @UN, as well as upcoming elections and multilateral priorities. As a Small Island Developing State, #Samoa faces acute challenges related to climate change, environmental vulnerability, and sustainable development. #Eritrea, as a coastal state with more than 300 islands along the #RedSea, also shares many of these concerns, particularly regarding climate resilience, marine ecosystems, and sustainable stewardship of coastal resources. Our exchange reaffirmed the importance of solidarity and cooperation among member states in addressing shared global challenges through dialogue and multilateral engagement.

A Look Back on Eritrea’s Historic day of May 24, 1991 🇪🇷 EPLF forces moved into the capital city of Eritrea, Asmara, liberating almost all of Eritrea from the Ethiopian military regime after a 30-year long bloody armed struggle. EPLF soldiers into the streets of Asmara.  Across the board, Eritreans were ecstatically happy and the dancing and celebration would continue for several days. Eritrea’s Independence Day. After half a century of political and armed struggle, the loss of tens of thousands of civilian lives, immense material and environmental destruction and the sacrifice of 65,000 freedom fighters, the struggle for independence ended with victory. Eritreans conducted the longest liberation war in Africa to ultimately achieve military and political victory. ንማዕርነታዊ ሽርክነት’ምበር “እምባ” ንምንዳይ ኣይኮነን ኣመሪካ ዝምድንኣ ምስ ኤርትራ ዳግም ንምትካሉ (Reset) ትሰርሕ ምህላዋ ዝገልጽ፡ Wall Street Journal ዝተባህለ ጋዜጣ ኣመሪካ ሓደ ዓንቀጽ ዘርጊሑ። ሕመረት ናይ’ቲ ጽሑፍ “ ጂኦግራፊያዊ ኣቀማምጣ ኤርትራን ስትራተጂያዊ ኣገዳስነቱ ንረብሓታት ኣመሪካ” ጠቓሚ ስለ ዝኾነን ብፍላይ ድሕሪ ምብራዕ “ ኲናት ኢራን”፡ ስዒቡ ዝተፈጥረ ወጥሪ ኣብ መጻብቦ ሆርሙዝን፡ ምምሕዳር ትራምፕ ንምብርባሩ ዝያዳ ከም ዝተሃንጠየ ይገልጽ። ከም “ግንዖ” ከኣ ኣመሪካ ከፊላዊ ምልዓል እገዳ ኣብ ልዕሊ ኤርትራ ክትገብር ከም እትደሊ ይጠቅስ። መቓምጦ ኤርትራ ኣብ ኣገዳሲ ጂኦ-ስትራተጂያዊ ዞባ ዝርከብ ምዃኑ፡ ሎሚ ዝኽሰት ዘሎ ሓድሽ ርኽበት ኣይኮነን። ጥንታዊ’ዩ። ጠንቂ ናይ 80 ዓመታት ዓሎቕ፡ ውዲት፡ መግዛእቲ፡ ብሓደ ወገን፡ ሳዕቤን ቃልስን መስዋእትን ድማ በቲ ካልእ ዝነበረን ዘሎን፡ ንሱ እዚ ኣገዳሲ ጂኦ-ስትራተጂያዊ ኣቀማምጣ ኤርትራ እዩ። ሽግር ወይ ዕንቅፋት ዝኸውን ዘሎ ግን፡ ግጉይ ፖሊሲ ምምሕዳራት ኣመሪካ ኣብ’ዚ ዞባ እምበር እቲ ጂኦ-ስትራተጂያዊ ኣቀማምጣ ኤርትራን ኣገዳስነቱን ኣይኮነን። መርገጺ ኤርትራ፡ ኣብ ጉዳይ’ዚ ኣህጉራዊ ኣገዳስነት ዘለዎ ጂኦ-ስትራተጂያዊ ከባቢ ንጹር’ዩ። ምውሓስ ሰላምን ጸጥታን ከባቢና ሓላፍነት ሃገራት ገማግም እምበር ንኻልኦት ዝወሃብ ዕዮ ኣይኮነን ዝብል መትከል ይኣምን። እዚ ማለት ግን ደገፍን ምትሕግጋዝን ካልኦት ኣብ ዘድልየሉ እዋን፡ ዘይሕሰምን ዘይነጽግን ምዃኑ ከኣ ክዝከር ኣለዎ። ንድሕሪት ቁሩብ ምልስ ኢልና እንተፈቲሽና፡ ኤርትራ ምስ ኣመሪካ ዘለዋ ዝምድና ንምምዕባል ካብ ጽባሕ ናጽነትን ቅድሚኡን፡ ዝተፈላለየ ተበግሶታት ብምውሳድ ዝተግሀት ሃገር’ያ። ዓሚ ሓምለ፡ ፕረዚደንት ትራምፕ ኣብ ሓድሕዳዊ “ምክብባር” ዝተመርኮሰ፡ ቅድሚኡ ንዝተፈጸመ ጌጋ ዝእርም ዝምድና ምስ ኤርትራ ክሃንጽ ከም ዝደሊ ዝገልጽ መልእኽቲ ናብ ፕረዚደንት ኢሳይያስ ምልኣኹ፡ ኤርትራ ብእወታ ተቐቢላቶ እያ። ኣብቲ ቀዳማይ እብረ ስልጣን ፕረዚደንት ትራምፕ፡ ፕረዚደንት ኢሳይያስ’ውን ተበግሶ ኤርትራ ንምምሕያሽ ዝምድና ምስ ኣመሪካ ዝገልጽ መልእኽቲ ሰዲዱ ምንባሩ ክርሳዕ የብሉን። ኤርትራ ምስ ኩለን ሃገራት ኣብ ማዕርነትን ሓድሕድ ምክብባርን ዝተመርኮሰ ውዱን ዝምድና ምምዕባል እንተዘይኮይኑ፡ ምስ ሓደ ወገን ኣንጻር ካልእ ወገን ምሽራው ዘይትቕበል፡ ኣብ ልኡላዊ ግዝኣታ ወተሃደራዊ መደበር ወጻእተኛታት ኣንጻር ካልኦት ክህሉን ክነጥፍን ዘይትፈቅድ ሃገር’ያ። ስለ’ዚ ምስ ኣመሪካ ክምዕብል ዝድለ ዝምድና’ውን ብዋጋ ካልኦትን ኣንጻር ካልኦትን ክኸውን ኣይክእልን’ዩ። ከም’ቲ ዝበሃል ዘሎ ድማ ኣመሪካን ምምሕዳር ትራምፕን ምምሕያሽ ዝምድና ምስ ኤርትራ ንምቅልጣፍ ይሰርሑ እንተልዮም እወታዊ’ዩ። ኤርትራ’ውን ክትጽዕረሉ ዝጸንሐትን እትደልዮን ስለ ዝኾነ። እንተ ብዛዕባ’ቲ ከም “ግንዖ” ዝጥቀስ ዘሎ ምልዓል እገዳ ኣብ ልዕሊ ኤርትራ፡ ብቐደሙ’ውን ሓደ ካብቲ ክኸውን ዘይነበሮ በደላት ምምሕዳር ኣመሪካ ስለ ዝኾነ፡ ክለዓል ዘለዎ’ዩ። ከም መባድልቲ ኣብ ምምሕያሽን ምምዕባልን ክልትኣዊ ዝምድና ኤርትራ - ኣመሪካ ክውሰድ ግን ቅኑዕ ኣይኮነን። ሎሚ፡ ጽባሕ፡ ምእንቲ ሰላምን ርግኣትን ሃገርናን ከባቢናን፡ ምስ ኣመሪካ ዝምድና ንምምሕያሽ ክንጽዕር ኢና። ንኽልትኤን ሃገራት ኣብ ዘርብሑ ጉዳያትን ዓውድታትን ድማ ናጽነትን ልኡላውንትን ዝመሰረቱ ምትሕግጋዝ ምምዕባል ግቡእ ስለ ዝኾነ ክንደፍኣሉ ኢና። እንተኾነ ግን “መጸግዒ እምባ” ከም ምንዳይ ክውሰድ የብሉን። ዓይንና እናረኣየ ኣእዛንና እናሰምዐ ጌጋ ካልኦት ክንደግም ዘይሕሰብ’ዩ። @followers

President #Isaias is a leader dedicated to advancing and defending his country. His policies prioritize resilience and self-reliance. Notably, #Eritrea maintains its independence without needing financial assistance from the International Community. I wish more African leaders would follow his footsteps, as Eritrea's core principle emphasizes self-sufficiency, zero reliance on foreign aid and zero corruption.

Eritrea Celebrates European Week 2026 ASMARA ― The EU in Eritrea celebrated #EuropeDay together with the Guest of Honour, Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Osman Saleh and other Ministers of the State of Eritrea, alongside EU Ambassadors, members of the Diplomatic Corps, partners and friends of the EU. In her remarks, EU Ambassador H.E. Joanna Darmanin reaffirmed the EU’s commitment to engagement with #Eritrea grounded in dialogue, cooperation and peace. Europe Week was marked in Eritrea by a series of events opening with a sports event with Eritrean youth who represented the EU Member States and the EU Delegation in a volleyball tournament. This was followed by a cultural event where a group of teenage students had the opportunity to discover more about the diversity of European languages and cultures. Together, as Team Europe, we celebrate unity in diversity and remain committed to fostering dialogue, cooperation and mutual understanding between the European Union and Eritrea, building on our long-standing relations.
