I describe myself as English as a rule because I was born and bred here, but actually I am half Welsh and half Scottish.

"English" is a recognised ethnic group, which one cannot simply 'join' by being born in England, without altering one's genetic makeup. "Argentinian" is a nationality, and is made up of multiple ethnic groups, some of which you have mentioned.
