@greyghostpoke Oh so you’re cherry-picking “major sports” because the success of sports like wrestling, golf, cross country, etc don’t fit your narrative? Cal was talking about administrations being all in on NIL. The OSU admin hasn’t shown otherwise.

Kelvin Sampson didn’t make the tournament the first 3 years at UH. Tom Izzo didn’t make the tournament his first 2 years at Michigan State. Dan Hurley didn’t make the tournament the first 2 years at UCONN. Rick Barnes didn’t make the tournament the first 2 years at Tennessee.

Money is the most important, sometimes only, resource that matters, when building a roster. Absolutely LSU has many times over more resources/money to construct a roster than OSU. And, so does every other SEC school. Arizona State is dwarfing OSU in resources, and so are many other schools in College Baseball We absolutely do NOT have the best facilities in the nation. O'Brate is nice, it's pretty, but it's small, its not full, and it's not a great home field advantage. That comes from many, many OSU players and opponents It has cages etc... like every other facility has. We share an indoor with every other sport and it's not heated, so taking ground balls, throwing etc...on winter days is not a recruiting draw, I can assure you that. Especially in the winter prospect camps when youre evaluating prospective recruits and it's 30 degrees in the indoor you're working in. In terms of financial resources, I'm not giving you opinion, again, it's math.

@CliffBruntAP I have no doubts about his offensive abilities. I do think the lack of foot speed/lateral quickness can hinder how much playing time he gets in Big12 play if he has trouble chasing/keeping up with his man through off-ball screens. We’ll see 🤞

Athleticism is solid. I think his length makes up for him not having great foot speed. If he gets a little stronger and quickens his release, he’s an impact player immediately.

I watched Montonati, the #OkState recruit, yesterday. All good. Gets to spots easily. Gotten stronger and knows how to use it. Great mid-range -- legit 3-level scorer. Willing and capable on D. Release is good and will get quicker with college coaching. OSU fans, he's nice.

@JonGobbo Crotty was a true freshman. His work ethic/ability to shoot grants him another year to develop, imo. Again, Curry is what he is at this point. Teams know he can’t drive/finish with his right. That’s a massive detriment on offense. He’s a defensive liability as well.

@WastedOptimism Crotty is a liability in defense. He missed his only three point opportunity last night, if he can’t hit shots, again, liability IMO. Curry and Clary worked great together until Curry got in foul trouble. No clue what happened to Millers ability to score…

Keep Clary, probably not Curry unless he miraculously figures out how to drive/finish with his right. Keep Ahmed & Crotty. I’m on the fence with Miller. His falloff from the 1st half of the season is crazy. Everyone else goes. This team needs a massive upgrade in basketball IQ.

Really hope Lutz can retain most of our guys, starting with Kanye Clary and Jaylen Curry. Think Vyctorius, Ahmed, Ragland, and Crotty can and will improve a lot next year. Isaiah Coleman struggled most of the year but started finding a rhythm late. Vukovic is a solid backup big who is still developing. Robert Jennings will be back. After that, need a shot blocker and a couple gritty 3 & D guys in the portal.

@PokeManB1 Ragland probably commands some as well as rev share. I just don’t think his or Vuk’s talent are worth the cost when considering what that position needs along with the other positions of need on the team as well.

I'm ignorant on our true basketball NIL financial situation, but I wouldn't think Rag and Vuk would command much? If we can't afford to keep them how can we afford to create any roster. IMO it would be more cost effective to keep our 3 current bigs (and the continuity that brings) and find two athletic bigs at a higher price tag to compliment them. If we go straight to the portal you are paying premium prices for 3-4 new bigs and losing out on the continuity. Starting from scratch again. I'm interested to see what road we go down. Either way so far, I trust Lutz with making a good decision on the big guys.

I think the big thing to remember is that all these players cost money now. It’s no longer just about how much space you have on the roster. Can OSU afford to keep Ahmed, Vuk, Ragland & add even more big men that need to be upgrades & will be more expensive?

@WastedOptimism I don't disagree with needing some more athleticism at center. I'm just thinking with the bigs as a group go out and get two athletic transfer bigs to replace/improve on Lefty and Fallah. Then Rag and Vuk can provide us with solid depth while they continue to develop.

@PistolRick I don’t know if the bad last half of the season was due to confidence or teams scheming his weaknesses better or what. I understand injuries play a part to an extent but not when it comes to knowing where to be, rotations, how to react to situations, etc.

@cowboyattaboy I think there needs to be an upgrade at PG. Both offensively & defensively. Curry/Clary are what they are at this point. Need to budget roster money to go after a better PG & keep the better one of Curry/Clary. Same goes for the center position, imo.

@WastedOptimism I like Curry & Clary playing together. If one goes it’s miller for me. Vuk has struggled but he has been injured 4 awhile. Vuk or Ragland but not both. Crotty may have potential so get rid of Guetta. That leaves us plenty of spots 4 two way portal guys. Losing most of our scorers

@PokeManB1 I think the team needs more athleticism at center. I really like Ahmed as a skilled, “under-the-rim” guy. But you really only need one of those. You need a Cisse-type, shot blocking center that can scare guards from driving the lane. That isn’t Vuk or Ragland.

@WastedOptimism I'd like to keep Ragland and Vukovic too. Ragland has good potential but he needs more time and to continue to get in better shape. I like the development I've seen in Vukovic. I think bigs are a bright spot for Lutz so far.
