@RebeccaGaunt There’s no reason taxpayers & parents should be learning about the name of the co. or how much has been spent from a news article. Many asked the question. The supt. refused to answer. But a reporter can look on LinkedIn and get a little info from the district? #wedeservebetter

Despite this, they continued to make legal missteps by trying to participate as a nonparty. The court emphasized that their actions—participating only as an amicus and not as a party—failed to meet the legal requirements for standing, leading the court to dismiss their appeal.

So, @CobbSchools appeal was DISMISSED by the 11th Circuit Court The court's opinion was clear: the Cobb County School District had no business appealing the case because they had already asked to be dismissed and were granted that dismissal.

@RebeccaGaunt Funny, she was actually prepared to be told she couldn't read the statement period. Which would have made her point for her. Instead they showed how utterly hypocritical they are. And now they set a precedent that others can follow.

Last night, two speakers read passages from books that the district removed due to sexual content in support of the district’s decision. It was handled very differently and no one was removed from the meeting. 2/2

In June 2021, Dr. Jillian Ford spoke critically to the Cobb school board and superintendent about racism in schools. She read racist threats that had been posted by a North Cobb student verbatim. She was cut off by Chair Randy Scamihorn and removed. 1/2
