What movie gave you a surprising message once you became a Christian?

The idea of sacrifice shows up in almost every story because deep down we know love costs something.

Hollywood loves stories about rebellion because our culture worships personal freedom more than wisdom.

Want to build discernment... Ask your kids, “What lesson did this story want you to believe?”

Writers often design heroes with flaws that reflect modern cultural struggles. Sometimes that helps. Sometimes it distorts reality.

Many films today preach that truth is found inside you. Scripture says truth comes from outside you, from God.

The message of a movie is rarely in the dialogue. It is in what the story rewards and what it punishes.

Stories shape culture far more than facts. This is why Christians must think deeply about what we watch.

What movie taught you something without trying to?

This points beyond fiction. Even the darkest stories show the human longing for justice.

That tells you what culture is pushing. The villain in modern films is often anyone who says there is a right and wrong. Did you catch it?

That one question opens up great conversations. Watch one scene with your kids and ask, “What did the character believe was right?”

Scripture tells a different story. When the hero saves themselves, it reflects the modern belief that redemption comes from within.

Sin is rebellion, not confusion. Hollywood often replaces sin with misunderstanding. But the Bible is clear.

Movies do not hide their worldview. They paint it with characters, choices, and consequences.

Stories shape culture because stories shape hearts. Guard what gets close to yours.
