I can tell you exactly when it happened and how it happened. My mums family had lived in the East end from the late 1600s/early 1700s. I was born in the City of London and lived in Hackney. My grandads family had lived around Well Street, Homerton since the late 1800s and Bethnal Green from the late 1700s. This estate in this photo is where my great nan and grandad lived from the mid 70s. Look at it now.

I’m 26 and the EastEnd that I inherited compared to my granddad or my great grandfather. In no other words Isit but TREASON of the highest order. I was born into a multiracial EastEnd. And let me tell you it is horrific. Surrounded by foreigners and foreign cultures. Always felt like something was missing. Now that I’m older I realise growing up surrounded by foreigners plays a gigantic factor. My grandparents never experienced the same upbringing. My EastEnd was taken from me. I deserve to grow up around my own.
