Friday of the Seventh Week of Easter
Daily readings- Acts 25: 13b-21; John 21: 15-19;
My personal reflections
1st reading- Following the Will of the Lord. Paul rejects going to Jerusalem because he knows they would likely kill him. Instead, as a Roman citizen, he elects to be able to go before the emperor and continue to spread the gospel in Rome, obeying the Will of the Lord. How often do I struggle to obey the Lord's Will? Lord, guide me.
Gospel- The Reconciliation of St. Peter. Here we see Peter being asked three times if he loves Jesus. This is direct reconciliation of Peter's three denials of Jesus just before his crucifixion. It is this specifically that separates Peter from Judas. Judas gave into despair, and believing he was beyond salvation, took his own life sending himself to hell for eternity. Peter, however, did feel enormous shame, but didn't give into despair. Jesus here showed how powerful His Grace can be for all of us.
Please remember, you're never lost to Him. You just need to go to Him.
I pray you experience Jesus Christ and have a blessed day today.
Dominus Vobiscum
