Temperatures have peaked today at 30.5°C in Frittenden, Kent 🌡️ This marks the first time in 2026 that the UK has passed the 30°C threshold It is very rare for the UK to record 30°C in May, with the last time being over a decade ago on 25 May 2012

@2SevernBridges I think the computer systems need to be updated bas the sign has been there for like 10 days. I don't understand as this is now a regular occurrence. My understanding is m48 bridge is closed from tonight 8pm 6am

We plan to close the #M4 in both directions between J16 #SwindonWest & J17 #Chippenham following a serious car collision from yesterday afternoon. This is for specialist recovery of the vehicle involved. Closures will start being installed from 01:00pm.

@2SevernBridges Absolute Joke. No investment in the bridges for 25 years meaning yet again thousands of people have to spend hours sat in traffic.

The #M48 #SevernCrossing is CLOSED in both directions due to strong winds. Strong winds are forecast throughout the evening so we expect the bridge to be closed for some time. Traffic is being diverted via the #M4 #PrinceOfWales Bridge. Allow extra journey time.
