The part you left out is republicans were in on it as well. There isn’t an aisle in Congress and never has been. It should also be pointed out that both republicans and democrats sat in congress in 1975 and was told that not only had the CIA done all of this repeatedly all over the world but had done it in the US using front organizations and had over 400 journalists on their payroll. The documents are still sitting in files in Congress. They murdered a president. Do you know what Congress did? Nothing. They continued to fund all of it. The one guy that tried to get rid of the covert ops was the one president everyone said (until recently) was the worse president we’ve had in the last 100 yrs: Jimmy Carter. Was he a good president? No. But Reagan came in and hired them all back. He used them on Nicaragua for Iran/Contra while sending missiles to a crazy man in Iran using Israel as a cut out. He did the same in Angola (again using Israel and S Africa as cut outs. And that’s not even mentioning the AFG 1 fiasco that created the mujahideen (which spawned Al Qaeda and ISIS) all while the Pakistani ISI (CIA) was siphoning off money for their nuke program which was later used to seed the Iran program. George HW Bush (who Carter refused to be allowed to continue as CIA director) and his buds overseas set up fake banks like BCCI to money launder it all and employ the temp laid off assets to hold them over using private intel like the Safari Club in Kenya. Gee, seems like the CIA was actively setting up Iran to be the new threat.

President Trump should instruct the DOJ to conduct an investigation into the foreign funding of many independent journalists. If you are being paid by a foreign government to push a political message, that is not America First. There are a lot of people on the right who are being paid by Iran, China and Qatar via crypto. Many of them are paid in cash in Dubai. This is well known. If you aren’t registered with FARA and you’re paid by a foreign Islamic country, you are working against America First. This is a national security issue.
