WSTA is a joint effort between Wayne County Public Schools & SJAFB. WSTA prepares students for post-secondary success as scholars and citizens.
Reminder: There will be no school on Monday, May 29, for WCPS students who attend Traditional Calendar schools. Students will return to school on Tuesday, May 30. Have a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend.
Our last teacher needs little to no introduction. She is our 2023 Teacher of the Year and she’s the epitome of teamwork, leadership, hard work, and dedication to our school and students. @ruhlenglish Happy Teacher Appreciation Week and thank you for everything! 🍎🍎⭐️
Our next teacher to be recognized is Ms. Raymond. She is our CTE teacher who has provided a very creative and rigorous learning environment for our students. She works with all grade levels to provide our kiddos with the opportunities to code and work towards technical arts! 🍎
Ms. Dove is our next teacher to be recognized. She creates exciting labs and experiments that motivate students to take more challenging courses as they advance through high school. Thanks for always keeping our students ready for their next challenges! 💫💯🍎
Our second teacher spotlighted today is Mrs. Kornegay. Although she is our amazing Exceptional Children’s teacher, she has cultivated positive relationships with all of our students and provided support to them through her nurturing personality and professional philosophies! 🍎
The next WSTA teacher I’d like to recognize is Coach Yelverton! He juggles the task of teaching both middle and high school students meaningful and relevant concepts in Health and PE. Coach, thank you for your daily commitment to our school and students. Enjoy your week! 🍎

Ms. Wolfe, our 6th grade Math and Science teacher continuously shows how much she wants to see her students succeed through her approach to teaching and her ability to take big risks within the classroom. Thank you for your always putting students first, Ms. Wolfe! 💯👍🏾😁

On Tuesday, January 31st at 6pm, @WayneSchoolTA will host a parent info night for all incoming 6th and 9th grade parents interested in our school. There will be sessions for both students and parents to attend. See you there!!
