Wayve has secured $1.5B to deploy our embodied AI platform globally. Autonomy should work everywhere, in every condition, across every type of vehicle. We are building a driving intelligence that learns to drive in places it has never seen before.

Day 3 of our Zero Shot Showcase takes us to Japan! 🇯🇵 Watch our AI Driver navigate through the streets of Yokohama, demonstrating our commitment to bring autonomy to any vehicle, anywhere.
Alex Kendall@alexgkendall

Day 3, video #3. Every day this week we are releasing a new hour-long, zero-shot autonomous drive from a new country around the world. Do you recognise this location? It is Japan! 🇯🇵 Yokohama in wet conditions from highways to tight, bustling urban roads. Check it out!

Day 2 of our 'Zero Shot Showcase'. Today - Stuttgart, Germany 🇩🇪 Enjoy!
Alex Kendall@alexgkendall

Video #2. Every day this week we are posting an hour long video of zero shot AI Driving in a different country all around the world. This time we're in Germany, driving around the rolling hills and into Stuttgart. 🇩🇪 Check it out! What matters now is scaled autonomy performance. We built our first world model in 2018. First VLA reasoning model in 2022. First generative simulator in 2023. Today we have integrated these into safe and compliant product ready for global scale. We're delighted to be partnering with the German ecosystem to bring autonomy to the rich heritage of brands. Together, we will build market-leading products for both consumer vehicles and robotaxis.

Day 1 of our week-long 'Zero Shot Showcase' San Jose, California 🇺🇸 Where will be next? 🤔
Alex Kendall@alexgkendall

Exciting to see how far the industry has come since we gave our first end-to-end AI driving demo a decade ago. But what matters now is scaled deployment. Every day this week we are releasing a new hour long video of zero shot driving all around the world 🌏 To start #1 this video is in San Jose, California. We're here for NVIDIA GTC and offering demo drives all week through the city and surrounding freeways. Book a ride here: wayve.ai/nvidiagtc2026/ This week we're also unveiling more details about our @NissanMotor Leaf robotaxi we're building on @NVIDIADRIVE Hyperion platform. We'll launch supervised trials in Tokyo with @Uber later this year. wayve.ai/press/wayve-ni… It has already been a busy week - today I was live on the main stream right before Jensen's keynote. Join me tomorrow for my keynote at 9am PT in person or live streamed here: 📢 nvidia.com/gtc/session-ca…

Big news from Tokyo 🇯🇵 @Uber and @NissanMotor and @wayve_ai have signed an agreement to deploy supervised robotaxis in Tokyo from late 2026, bringing the Nissan Leaf powered by the Wayve AI Driver to riders through Uber. This is what scalable autonomy looks like: • OEM-native integration - no retrofit. Nissan is designing the vehicle for mass production, with hardware sourced from global automotive supply chains. • AI-first autonomy - a single AI Driver designed to generalise anywhere across Tokyo without mapping. • Collaborative and scalable path to autonomy - together, we combine intelligence, engineering and distribution. Tokyo is an exciting city for us to deploy our embodied AI. It’s a city with sophisticated mobility options and high safety standards. I loved testing our autonomy here this week. We’ve been public road testing and working closely with local authorities since early 2025. Looking forward to working alongside great leadership of Ivan Espinosa, Sarfraz Maredia and @dkhos. Big efforts ahead. 🙌

Our CEO @alexgkendall shares his thoughts on our latest funding round, reflecting on Wayve’s pioneering ‘firsts’ over the past decade, and the breakthroughs that will define the next.
Alex Kendall@alexgkendall

“Autonomy for everyone, everywhere. Wayve will deploy in 100 cities, not one.” That was literally the opening line of our first investor deck. You can read it in my new blog below. When we started @wayve_ai in 2017, few thought this would ever be possible. After securing $1.5 billion in new capital last week, it feels within reach. A contrarian approach has always been part of Wayve’s DNA. From day one, we chose to face the hardest problems head-on. We focused on teaching an AI system to make safe decisions in the open world without relying on expensive hardware and rule-based systems. We pioneered end-to-end learning when it was widely dismissed. We prioritised generalization over optimisation in a single domain. We started in dense urban environments like London. Why? Because it forced us to be novel, ambitious, and persistent - traits that are guiding principles of Wayve to this day. These technical decisions have now enabled us to take a contrarian approach to our business model. It is one that is vehicle-agnostic, built for scale. Importantly, it is one that means our total addressable market is different by orders of magnitude to those who choose to tie autonomy to their own cars or robotaxi fleets. This latest funding is a huge validation of our contrarian approach, with major investors, global automakers and technology partners backing deployment of our AI driver and acceleration towards our next phase of firsts: 🥇 to integrate autonomy into OEM production vehicles without retrofitting hardware 🥇 to deploy autonomy with multiple global OEM partners at the same time 🥇 to generalise autonomy across different sensor and computing architectures 🥇 to deploy robotaxi services in multiple countries 🥇 to deploy autonomy in 100 cities These firsts shape Wayve’s vision for the next decade. Autonomy for any vehicle, anywhere. Read more in my new blog: wayve.ai/thinking/the-p…
