Terrible news this morning, Ian Nicholls has passed away suddenly. Our thoughts go out to Ian’s family & friends. Ian will be very fondly remembered by many within cricket & gave up an extraordinary amount of time to youth cricket in particular. RIP Ian.

At 3.45 this afternoon our cricket ground was invaded by travellers. They cut the lock on the gate, threatened one of our fantastic volunteers and left his young children in tears. They have also later broken into the pavilion while the police refused to engage. 1/

We would like to echo the thoughts of many others from across the cricket community & offer our sincere condolences to David Capel's family & friends. He was a huge part of cricket across Northamptonshire for a number of years & will be sorely missed by many people. RIP Capes.

@PTAlanSwann @pborotowncc We were originally asked not to mention anything about the incident that occurred. One our guys then called @pborotowncc to advise of the real reasons behind this, but you failed to mention this. Your very selective and only interest seems to be wanting to paint us in a bad light

And the club concerned have kindly confirmed there was a different reason for the game being cancelled. They have yet to apologise to @pborotowncc for misleading them as far as I know.

Great first weekend back @official_NCL
One thing noticed was the 11am start meaning games were finishing before 5pm with the full 80 overs played.
Moving to 12/1230 would maybe allow better participation for players that work in the mornings.
