The European Union’s clean energy future is under threat, as the potential appointment of two anti-nuclear commissioners risks derailing progress toward clean energy goals.

With Teresa Ribera and Dan Jørgensen in line for key commission roles, their long-standing opposition to nuclear energy could block Europe’s nuclear revival, a key component of achieving climate goals. Despite overwhelming evidence that nuclear is vital to decarbonising the energy sector, these candidates prioritise ideology over science, leaving Europe vulnerable to higher emissions and energy instability.
On November 5th and November the 12th, Jørgensen and Ribera respectively, will undergo the EU confirmation hearings.
Now is the time to act—urge the European Parliament to reject these appointments and ensure climate-focused, science-based leadership for our energy transition.

They'll be presenting the pledge to support the goal of tripling nuclear THIS MORNING at the Rockefeller Center in New York City to kick off NY Climate Week. A few of the names: Bank of America Barclays BNP Paribas Brookfield Citi Credit Agricole Goldman Sachs Morgan Stanley Rothschild & Co The pledge comes after Microsoft signs deal to buy $16 billion in electricity from a revived Three Mile Island nuclear plant alone over 20 years to fuel its AI ambitions. A freedom of information investigation has found that Green party Minister Robert Habeck and Greens appointed bureaucrats colluded to mislead the public about the possibility of extending the operational lifetime of German nuclear power plants. The damning investigation found the bureaucrats changed or covered up memos from experts within the economic and environment ministries which showed that German nuclear plants could safely operate for several more years helping to reduce gas use and drive down emissions and energy prices.
