I’m probably midcurving by explaining this, but f*ck it. Way too many people in this space don’t know the difference between a content creator, influencer, and KOL. There’s actually a big gap between the three in traditional marketing. If you’re building in Web3, you need to understand it: 1. Content Creator A content creator makes content about a product, game, or topic. Their value is in the content itself. Showcasing features, trends, gameplay, etc. They're not usually seen as authorities, and they may or may not drive conversions. Their strength is volume, consistency, and visibility. Essential to any campaign, especially for virality. 2. Influencer Influencers are aspirational. It’s not just what they post, it’s who they are. Personality, lifestyle, aesthetic, skill. The brands they touch feel authentic to their life, and people buy in because they want to be like them. It requires a balance, over shilling leads to people losing trust quickly. (This is why hardly anyone in CT is an actual influencer) 3. KOL (Key Opinion Leader) This is the rarest tier. A KOL might also be a creator or influencer, but what sets them apart is: their opinion moves markets. They tend to do the fewest deals, but when they do, they’re big. Game-changing. They're trusted because they’ve proven expertise, skin in the game, and an unwillingness to compromise on integrity. They tend to more of an advisor/consultant to projects more than a content creator, because brands don’t just want a KOL to post. They want their approval. That trust unlocks audiences they’d never reach otherwise. My knowledge on the topics originate from the years i spent as a creative in the fashion industry. For every marketing campaign, we had to have a certain amount of content creators/influencers/KOLS to attract different customer profiles. Web3’s still catching up to that, but the ones who get it will win.

Tokenless Web3 Economy 
🚨 I believe that before we master a token based web3 economy, we must learn the ways of utilizing blockchain first without making crypto / the token the product. 

 I see this very well here at thirdweb, we have no token and we run a B2B SAAS business. 

 Now once one masters these foundations, in my opinion it feels as if it would be much easier to generate a fly wheel to then allow a token flourish in an ecosystem. 

 Today we build tokens as the products, not as the fly wheels we initially thought of them as.
