Let's talk menopause. Teaching is a female-dominated profession, yet support for those going through menopause is often overlooked. Symptoms can start years before reaching 51, the UK average age, and can continue past 55. It's time to break the silence. #worldmenopauseday

There are many missed opportunities to repair ruptures in relationships in schools that escalate over time-often catergorised as 'low level disruption', YP became disconnected and defensive, seeking belonging wherever they can. We need informed practice and an innovative approach

@InferiorTheory @AnnaSmee1 @ThriveApproach Indeed and sadly this leaves many of our young people who need our care, isolated, disconnected and at risk. A culture and practice of belonging, community, connection and compassion is the way, informed by established research on developmentally what young people need.

@WebbofRoses @AnnaSmee1 @ThriveApproach Absolutely. If you're excluded, you either learn to disconnect from your feelings in order to meet the approval of authority figures and get included... Or you decide that you belong outside the group and see them as adversaries who you must disrupt more than ever.
