The African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) must now move decisively from negotiation to implementation so that it delivers tangible benefits to Africa’s 1.4 billion people. By bringing together our markets, the AfCFTA lays the foundation for structural economic transformation, accelerating industrialisation, deepening value addition, and driving broad-based growth at continental scale. Its potential is immense. Projections indicate that it could increase intra-African trade by up to $3 trillion and raise Africa’s cumulative GDP by about $1.4 trillion between 2021 and 2045. This promise, however, will only be realised through disciplined execution and sustained political leadership. The absence of permanent African seats on the Security Council is indefensible. The Security Council must reflect today’s world. This is 2026 — not 1946. Whenever decisions about Africa and the world are on the table, Africa must be at the table.

For those unaware, SpaceX has already shifted focus to building a self-growing city on the Moon, as we can potentially achieve that in less than 10 years, whereas Mars would take 20+ years. The mission of SpaceX remains the same: extend consciousness and life as we know it to the stars. It is only possible to travel to Mars when the planets align every 26 months (six month trip time), whereas we can launch to the Moon every 10 days (2 day trip time). This means we can iterate much faster to complete a Moon city than a Mars city. That said, SpaceX will also strive to build a Mars city and begin doing so in about 5 to 7 years, but the overriding priority is securing the future of civilization and the Moon is faster.

If you see corruption: Interrupt it — question it, challenge it, refuse to participate; Disrupt it — report it through the established legal channels and oversight mechanisms; and Stop it — by standing firm, refusing to be compromised, and collaborating with oversight bodies.

Gambling has taken a worrying trend, especially among our young people, posing a serious threat to our social fabric. To ensure that it does not become a menace to the society, we have taken a comprehensive approach that strikes a balance between the cost and benefits of gambling. This morning,I was briefed by the multi agency team on the status of response taken against the perceived runaway gambling, especially the virtual games and Jackpots, which have been in the social media for a couple of weeks. The team explained and listed strategies that they have come up with in order to stem the proliferation of illegal gaming and gambling with harmful effects on society. The multi agency team comprised Internal security and National Administration, State law office, BCLB, KFCB, MCK, KRA, and the security agencies.

In Kilgoris, Narok County, met the African Union Commission Chairperson @AUC_MoussaFaki and discussed, among other things, AU reforms and the upcoming election of the AUC Chairperson, a post that Former Prime Minister @RailaOdinga is running for.

On 13/8/2024, @ARSO_1977 SG @nhermog hosted @AGRAfrica and @BettingBclb to explore the collaboration in the harmonisation work of African standards for the Development of the gambling industry in liaison with National stakeholders.

The petition, submitted by Mr. Weldon Koros on behalf of the Association of Gambling Regulators, calls for a prohibition on gambling by registered athletes and sports officials. 2/3
