In our community the special food for Ugadi / Padwa is the tender cashew nut stir fry It's called upkari First keep the tender cashews in water and wait for the skin to get soft. The peel the skin from the tender cashews In a pan, temper (tadka/ phodni) curry leaves, mustard seeds in coconut oil (gives that authentic flavour) till the mustard seeds splutter Add red chilli (byadgi mirchi) After a couple of minutes put the peeled cashews, cover the pan and cook on a low to medium flame Optionally add some jaggery to taste (not to make it sweet but for flavour) After it's cooked spread some grated coconut on the top and mix well The upkari is ready It's a very simple recipe but extremely tasty Try it some day

How long has my SM fam used the same mobile number continuously for? I got my present number in 2002 so about 24 years (Airtel when launched in Pune). Prior to that I had BPL, if anyone remembers that with the Nokia 8110, I think 1997 or 98 odd & that mobile phone was famously nicknamed the "banana phone" during the 90s.
