@NASUWT Accept a pay rise - wasn't the reason I voted to strike - & lose TA hours as 3.5% is unfunded, which inevitably means I work longer hours and drop further below minimum wage per hour. NO. I voted for curriculum reform and workload reduction (as a result of true OFSTED reform.)

@sjf70 @MISSNTEACHING 8 years in teaching, 17 years previously in corporate jobs, blue chip, management. 50-60 hr week in both. Never experienced the same stress, despair, exhaustion and time spent on activity that wasn't supporting the key objective in corporate roles. Sharing a balanced perspective.

Fantastic performance from all the team today, away to Torbay. A team of 9 strong were determined and it showed!! An 8-0 win was the result, with Fiona Berry keeping up the weekend's Berry successes with 6 goals!! #hockeyfamily

MP pay rise by £2200 is a bloody slap in the face. They knew what we would think & feel about it but doing it anyway. So inflation is OK with MP pay rise but disastrous for Nurses, Teachers, Rail workers etc to get pay rise? They. Are. Shameless. British. Voters. Are. Fools.

Launceston are playing Tavistock on Saturday 10th September, 2.30pm push back at Kelly College. A memorial match for much loved and missed member of the LHC family, Jan Grahame, who passed in July. Anyone who'd like to play, please contact us, spectators welcome. #clublaunceston

Just had an email from a parent saying we are overreacting as staff are off after testing positive. They were surprised that they are off despite not being ill (I don't know how they know!) They said other schools aren't asking for people to isolate. Help me prove them wrong!

@xandvt @peterwalker99 Saw a teacher thread about this yesterday. My steps have taken a real hit with remote teaching. Comparison, with a normal school week pre-Lockdown, and this week (and it took a long walk around Waterlow Park, Hampstead Heath, Highgate Woods to get those steps up today).

I have been trying (& succeeding) to going for a long walk every day this year. This is largely thanks to @peterwalker99’s lovely book “The Miracle Pill” which I HIGHLY recommend. My phone shows the first month in a year where I’ve averaged over 10,000 steps.
