Jack Hughes has been one of Team USA’s best players through the first two games. He’s creating space with his elite hands and skating ability, consistently making plays, and has 3 points. It’s great to see, especially after a tough showing at the 4 Nations tournament last year.

@bongomansam They lived together and talked to each other almost every day. If Caleb Williams got shot in the throat, PCA would miss a couple games to attend Caleb's funeral, and their friendship isn't even close to as big as theirs was. Attending that funeral was a no brainer.

With the Matt Shaw thing - I don’t care that he’s conservative, nearly every baseball player is. I care that he seems to cares more about his politics than he does about baseball. Leaving your team in September of a playoff hunt to go to a political rally is disqualifying to me

@bongomansam I'm a ridiculously huge cubs fan. As big as any. At first, I'll admit it, I thought it was weird... until I learned just how close they were. They even lived together. They talked almost every day. There was no way he wasn't attending whatever Erika asked him to attend.

@WentProAt9 It’s very sad. I’m not sure how much more closure he got sitting in the rafters in an Arena than he would have gotten by watching the livestream. They lost that game 0-1 against a division rival. He was playing great at the time. If I was a cubs fan I would’ve been furious

@bongomansam Sam. His close friend who he loved dearly got shot in the throat. Left behind his two babies. Who he also has met many times and loved. Really think about how sad that is, and how unimportant missing 2 out of 162 baseball games becomes. You're better than this.

@WentProAt9 The “funeral” was a de facto political rally. If the funeral was a smaller, intimate event where he could be with the friends, family etc I’d have more sympathy. He was sitting in a football arena. Skipping town during a division hunt to go to a political rally is disqualifying

@CaponeCigar @JWick49662 I couldn't agree more. His performance against the chiefs in 2023 was borderline unforgivably bad. I was offended watching that. So many other qbs win that game easily. It's literally all his fault they lost. And that's just one of his games, and the farthest he's made it.

@JWick49662 @CaponeCigar I'll even say he's a top 4 qb. Many analysts have him 6 through 9, and Allen, burrow etc. haven't won any championships yet even. I'm higher on Rodgers than the majority. From an unbiased POV, as amazing as he was, he fucking blew it. 70% of the losses weren't on him, but yeah.
