I think what The Odyssey and Frankenstein should show us is that there is a market for the adaptation of classic literature when it is done well and with passion. That these stories are still relevant and in the right hands make compelling cinema. More movies based on classics!

This movie raised me. My mom didn’t want it to. But it did. Haha. Here’s to having violent little boys as besties as a kid and that Aliens toy line that Kenner put out. Oh and Super Soakers.

ALIENS was released 40 years ago today. James Cameron was just 31 when he directed the film and had only one major hit to his name. Many on the crew doubted him, but Aliens earned 7 Oscar nominations and became one of the most acclaimed sequels ever made.

Later, we see it when Agamemnon tells it himself. Really cool.

@trygraptor The one we see is a guy in makeup and suit filmed separately and made to look giant that way. The puppet was mostly for reference for the actors and to have something for lighting reference and such
