I´m super proud and impressed by Vaish Iyer who got her PhD title today after an epic discussion with opponent Anne Spurkland (@anspurk). The defense was completely conducted by the white board, and extra pens, and fans (!) were delivered halfway through the discussion...

CRISPR-mediated DNA damage enriches for cells with escape mutations in a broad CRISPR p53 interactome. Jiang et al identify parameters affecting the enrichment, and show that it can be suppressed by transient inhibition of p53. bit.ly/3GedfG9 @Wermeling_lab
