Thursday, South Dakota State All-American offensive guard and team captain @MasonLMcCormick was asked why @GoJacksFB didn't lose any big contributors to the NCAA Transfer Portal after winning the national title last season. His response is worth a read: “I think the grass isn’t always greener on the other side,” McCormick said. “You see all these guys going into the portal and a lot of them go to be a depth guy at a bigger level. There’s a ton of reasons…the community of Brookings is amazing. Our coaching staff is awesome. Our facilities are great. And the brotherhood we have with one another, I don’t think there’s many like it. “To take your chances in the portal and think there’s something better, I don’t think that’s ever something anybody in this programs should ever risk because I don’t think there is a ton better.
