The hardware *and software were sold with the promise of these features that were never delivered. The software was still sold to those customers on those older vehicles until just two months ago with the same promise that full FSD would become available to them in the near future. If you really can’t understand this, it is because you either don’t want to or just have a dishonest agenda you are pursuing. That plus your AI profile pic make it impossible for me to believe you come to this discussion with good faith.

@WesYarber @Gerard_Otero76 @elonmusk @Tesla @Tesla_AI @aelluswamy @teslaeurope @ClubTeslaES No. I really don’t.
For 25 years we’ve all known that softwares and hardwares become outdated over time.
Yesterday’s hardware may not always be capable of executing tomorrow’s advancements.
It’s an inherent risk that most reasonable people have learned to deal with.

The difference is that the PS3 was bought with the promise of playing a game that is now never coming out of beta. Updates have stopped coming for their barely functional $15k game that they paid for a $45k console to exclusively to play that game on, while the new updates to those games are being released only on the PS4. And those who bought the PS3 with the promise of those games being playable on their hardware are now being ignored with hopes that they will just move on and buy the PS4. Until the same thing happens to the PS4. So they could sit silently by while they get rug pulled or they could make their voices heard.
After much outcry did it get mentioned that there might be a retrofit, but it is intentionally not discussed much by those at Tesla. It really seems Tesla hopes that they can wait long enough and people will just upgrade their $45k PlayStations and re-buy the same $15k game they already paid for but can’t even bring over to their new console. I love my Teslas, but can you really not understand this perspective?

Serious question: What other things do you own that when the manufacturer releases a newer version five years down the road, you piss and moan about your entitlement to the newer benefits?
Do you whine about your PS3 not playing PS5 games and lacking streaming capabilities? Have you asked SONY why that is?
Tesla and Elon have said they will retrofit. Why is that not enough for you?

@ecrouse7 I got my used MXP at like half off msrp with 17k miles and I love this thing.

@unterminated_ @pnwguerrilla It is definitely not a camera 😂 know how small the batteries have to be and how long they need to last in those things? That’s an LED or IR receiver.
English

@pnwguerrilla I'll be adding a Uncle Ted was right sticker to my next order

@SawyerMerritt Probably should have put a little more forethought I to the name. RAP3 will not be a great name for version 3.

NEWS: Rivian has announced its autonomy subscription, Autonomy+, launching in early 2026 and priced at $2,500 (one-time) or $50/month.
Rivian Gen 3 autonomy platform will include 11 cameras, 5 radars and a front-facing LiDAR. It will be powered by RAP1, Rivian's in-house silicon.
Software advancements are coming to the company’s second gen R1 vehicles in the near term with the addition of Universal Hands-Free (UHF), bringing hands-free assisted driving for extended periods:
• Available on over 3.5 million miles of roads across the USA and Canada.
• Capable of operating off-highway on roads with clearly painted lines.
"These features have the potential to make the roads safer, address customer demand and become veritable drivers for the business. We plan to continuously improve the autonomy capabilities of its Gen 2 R1 and future R2 vehicles, with a clear trajectory including point-to-point, eyes off and personal L4."

Hey, thanks man. It’s crazy how many antisemites came crawling out of the goo to try and compete in the little Hitler pageant in the replies here. Just want to be a voice saying thanks! It’s an increasingly vocal minority that’s saying all of this, but I grew up in MS, went to MSU, and never saw anything like that. So many good, hospitable people.

As an Ole Miss fan, it makes me sick to my stomach to see pieces of shit like this McClintock dude smearing the image of the good folks of Mississippi.
I may not like State, but I do know the folks in Starkville are good people who do not deserve to have this stain their image

@rojamaibo This movie was so full of disrespect to the viewer. Easily the worst movie I’ve ever seen.
English

@MacRumors Wait, it’s not like that for everybody and maybe mine are defective?

Walmart stores and every other store already has different prices from store to store based on the demographics of the area. I know at Walmart, though, these are not put here to do this type of dynamic pricing that changes throughout the day. You can look at the tech and see how obviously it was never and will never be I tended to update often or quickly as a certain customer walks by. This is a turn your brain off sort of take.
English

This is silly. It costs money to update these prices. It also takes time. These cheap, low power, battery powered, e-ink displays are not going to keep up with customers coming and going. You see how long in the video it took to update a screen. This is a *good use of tech* to keep prices up to date and not require an associate to come by and update them, and y’all are out here fear mongering for no apparent reason.
English

@insanerainmusic Woah dude, I could hear it. I was gushing about how incredible the music was last night and thinking how it reminded me of your arrangements. Congrats man!
English

@aphysicist @SecArmy Wait, are they 3d printing that blackhawk external fuel tank fin for production or just testing?
English

i'm glad that @SecArmy is going on a crusade against the insane spend and blatant waste in sustainment parts the army deals with
English

@Jack1000k @aphysicist @SecArmy That’s what I was thinking lol. I was expecting him to say “cents” after the word “fifteen.”
English

@aphysicist @SecArmy Lmao a $15 knob is still a 15,000% markup.
English

@TheTitoinou @BambulabGlobal Oh yeah, you’re right. I don’t know how I got that mixed up, but I was bad wrong!
English

@WesYarber @BambulabGlobal In Europe it is literaly the price of P1S 2 weeks ago lol (more or less 50€ but that's nothing for the upgrade)
