@CityofEdmonton Edmonton also requires affordable housing for minimum wage earners, so businesses don't need to rely on temp workers. If people had a place of their own within walking distance of basic amenities, they would be more productive and willing to work. The Quarters is a perfect fit.

@Lohughes @CityofEdmonton I've seen countless infills in established neighborhoods with street parking which is a huge issue. There is a ton of space by Rogers, Macewan, The Quarters where larger, affordable apartment blocks with lot parking can be built.
English

@WesleyAdams17 @CityofEdmonton Yes parking is a key piece that they’ve missed.

Edmonton continues to grow, and infill helps support housing affordability and livable neighbourhoods 🏡
On April 7, City Council will consider proposed infill changes.

@edmontonjournal We could build multiple affordable apartment complexes with lot parking, similar to apartments built in the 80's. Incorporating more studio apartments, that allows low income individuals to live on their own.

The @WSJ is losing its mind. It backed the idiotic suicide war and now its realising its unwinnable. The publication can’t back down so it is now running unhinged pieces saying: “Boots on the ground or this is our Suez moment”. There is no way to do that. It’s so over. 🇺🇸📉

English

@Edmontonsun It's cheaper, the cost of living is rising, which requires wages to increase for Canadians. Increasing tfw numbers will keep pay lower and allow employers to exploit labour and allow the government to ignore systemic issues plaguing Canadians like housing, addiction and health.

@CityofEdmonton @redcrosscanada My building has near constant break-ins, our mailbox has been broken into so many times canada post has stopped delivering mail.
English

@CityofEdmonton @redcrosscanada If you required landlords to install cameras by all entrances of their buildings you would immediately improve safety. Cameras have become affordable and easy to use, there is no reason why this wouldn't work.

@TrickleTruth @nypost It changes the Russian voters' perception of the war. It puts economic pressure on Putins regime. The rising cost of living and accumulation of national debt are felt by everyone in Russia, not just those sent to the front.
English

@nypost …does it changed anything on the “actual” battlefield, nope - it just stiffens the resolve of the Russian army to essentially ensure this moronic Ukraine army /govt is grounded into dust. Ukraine is simply making their situation infinitely worse but you can’t legislate stupidity

🇺🇦❗️“I have no idea what the allies have been looking at for four years while we have been at war,” — Ukrainian military instructors who went to help counter Iranian missiles and UAVs are shocked by the way the US shoots down “Shaheds,” writes The Times
– First, the Persian Gulf countries launched as many as 8 Patriot missiles at one (!) enemy target, each costing more than $3 million.
– They often used a ship-based SM-6 missile, worth about $6 million, to shoot down a “Shahed” worth $70,000.
– The US and its allies often literally “shine” their radars like beacons — without proper camouflage. Ukrainians work differently: mobile radars constantly change positions.
For example: just three (!) cheap Shahed drones destroyed the AN/FPS-132 early warning radar (~$1 billion) and another air defense radar (~$300 million), which had been standing in one place for months and were perfectly “readable” from satellites.
