@taylr Interesting. If I’m thinking correctly, they’re about to build a new project there later this year with an art component. It’s a striking mural. Bold and unsettling with cool color. But it might be covered up

In 2020 my friend Jordan asked me to a read a play people said was too provocative to produce. I read it. I loved it. I asked if he’d let me produce. And with no experience began “producing”. In 2025 we ran 7 months off bway and today we’re the @LortelAward most nominated play.

Excited to announce that I’ll be joining the Mayor’s Uptown task force as the Special Envoy. Mayor Frey and I don’t always agree on everything, but I’m happy to put our differences aside for the betterment of Minneapolis. Keep an eye out for a formal City Hall announcement soon.

@lydiakauppi Yes, sometimes the improvement comes from within. People often forget that it’s not just various outside forces of people and corporations playing around. It can be those that live there working hard to build community and uplift their neighborhood for their own benefit too.

I’ll take it a step further and say people can’t tell the difference between gentrification and a neighborhood materially improving without the displacement of residents. It becomes NIMBYism because they fight improvements under the guise of class consciousness

@TheRealGOP Yes, I agree. The majority of unfriendly activity happening downtown, or anywhere for that matter, is usually among people already associating together. Not normally random violence to someone just going to the Guthrie or park. But I think Mike’s promotion is his own genuine not$

Yes. I often write about the problems of Minneapolis. I do this in part because there are others (who are often paid) who push Minneapolis as a great place, and there are millions of dollars in PR behind that. Not to mention people like Mike Norton on X who promote it. But at the same time, I think the negativity gets to be too much too. It isn't as bad or as dangerous as some claim and I always try to convince people that it is safe to come downtown if you use normal caution and don't do crazy stuff like sell drugs or buy drugs late at night.

@TheRealGOP Glad we agree there. It feels bad faith arguing when people don’t even like Minneapolis in the first place or are overly disparaging.

Walking in the hellscape of Minneapolis. 😂😂 But seriously, our city has big problems (which I often post about) but it's still nice and lots to do and see.

@visceralscenery The likely higher amount of daily steps is really powerful as a natural medicine too. Even light short amounts of cardio can really regulate the adhd brain more than others which it helps too.

someone's probably gonna burn me at the stake for this take but i legit think being car-free/a transit user has helped me learn to manage time relative to adhd brain...when being 2min late for the bus means being 30min late for a commitment, you learn to plan ahead QUICK

@electronzap @DeRushaJ @caitlinmcgowan Unrest in the city def hurt businesses but part of the mission of protestors were to end that unrest while also to campaign and support local business in the meantime. Protests that aren’t as risky can create great opportunity like the rally concert on Nicollet earlier this month

@DeRushaJ @caitlinmcgowan That'd be nice, but businesses have been struggling ever since the protests started, so I doubt an even bigger protest will benefit them.

@DeRushaJ Hard to say for sure if a different mayoral candidate would’ve gotten more things fixed and made government work and been our local Zohran. I’m happy about Frey’s passion for the city but I am sad we didn’t try something closer aligned with this other style.

@WedgeLIVE That pictured bike lane outside the wedge is going to get so much use. They have so much bike parking there, but besides a little bit along Franklin not many good paths to bike to and from the wedge.

Lyndale Avenue will get a separated bikeway when it's reconstructed in the next few years. Hennepin County heard that you were deeply skeptical of the previous design that had a shared use path. beheardhennepin.org/lyndale-avenue…
