This game not being on ESPN/ABC is utterly ridiculous. Nothing against Prime…but this should be a nationally televised game on linear for all, especially those in the Cleveland-Detroit markets to see.

@cltrl_sprmcst @marcelluswiley Typed all that to still be wrong. The pedal still makes the engine burn more gas the further it is pressed...instead of being physically linked to the carburetor assembly, it now tells the computer to open the throttle and make the injectors inject more gas.

Accelerator pedal is the proper term. Calling that pedal the "gas pedal" even in a modern ICE vehicle is a misnomer, because when you press it, all you're doing is making a request to a series of computer modules to move the vehicle at a certain rate, same as in electric vehicles. On old carbureted vehicles, that pedal used to be connected to linkage that would physically open the throttle plate, while simultaneously actuating the accelerator pump, literally squirting gas down into the engine. That pedal does none of those things now, regardless of propulsion system.
