Pittsburgh, St. Louis and California ( before they switched to white) I believe are the teams that used these for at least one season. Early 70’s hockey cards/books memory burn.
Andrew Castell@ACHockeyHistory

For those of you that have seen old footage of NHL games in the 70's, yes, some teams wore team coloured skates made by @CCMHockey and by @BauerHockey (my very first pair of skates were made by @BauerHockey in the green, white & blue colours of the Canucks)

Hey @oldhockeycards, your Lanny McDonald helmet post got me thinking... Who else wore that Stan Mikita Northland bucket? Rick Vaive with the Canucks did.

Legendary baseball broadcaster Bob Prince on the call. Don’t think he did much hockey. @BillPotrecz @rmawhood

Oct. 23, 1977. Extremely rare TV footage from the old #Cleveland Coliseum in Richfield, Ohio - home of the #NHL #Barons in 1976-77 and 1977-78. Here, from Channel 50 in #Pittsburgh, is poor quality sound and announcing, as the #Penguins are referred to as “we” and “us”. Attendance was 5,910 and the visitors prevailed, 3-2. #NHL #Leafs

Good stuff Howard! Questions: Is that StL goalie #1 Don Caley’s only NHL game? When did Leafs’ PAA Paul Morris start announcing player’s first names after goals, penalties?
Howard Berger@Berger_BYTES

Frank Mahovlich turned 88 this week. He’s among a handful of players still with us from #Toronto’s last #StanleyCup team. Here, the Big M scored against St. Louis in the #Blues first-ever visit to Maple Leaf Gardens, Dec. 30, 1967. I was at the game with my father. Bill Hewitt and Brian McFarlane called the goal. Mahovlich would be traded to #Detroit just more than two months later. Leafs throttled Scotty Bowman’s team, 8-1. #LeafsForever #CBC

@JosephPolitano Even better when you can get a guided tour including one of the unit the architect owned in its original form.

Former Kansas City Royals and Montreal Expos shortstop U.L. Washington would've turned 72 today. He passed away in March 2024. In his honour, I'm typing this with a toothpick in my mouth.

@BlueJaysDad I like your take, mine: 1 Joe. 2 Alomar. 3 Ed. 4 Jose. Sprague saved them from going 0-2 in 1st WS ( another rookie Bell worked a walk to get on prior). Alomar broke the curse of not winning when it counted most, and led way to first WS app. Tom Cheek told me in 90’s Alomar’s #1

Most important Home Run in Toronto Blue Jays history. Before this come-from-behind victory, the Jays had yet to get over the hump in three previous trips to the ALCS. *chills*

Coming in at #3 in our top 10 Blue Jays playoff moments in franchise history. Roberto Alomar with a two run homerun off Dennis Eckersly to tie the game in the 1992 ALCS! 🎥 MLB

@SabresFunStats Awesome post! Your feet at top of head level of row in front, no railing. Waliking to your seat, or standing for an exciting play like walking on the ledge of a skyscraper. Fun times!!

@thejaysnation A sweet one! EE such a big part of those days and probably he is not thought of as highly now as he should be. From a questionable 3B man to a big part.

Coming in at #4 in our top 10 Blue Jays playoff moments in franchise history. Edwin Encarnacion wins in with a walk-off homerun to beat the Orioles in the 2016 Wild Card game! 🎥 MLB

Good debate, but I go 1 Joe. 2 Alomar. 3 Ed. 4 Jose. Love the Sprague one - saved them from going 0-2 in 1st WS ( another rookie Bell worked a walk to get on prior). Alomar so high because he broke the curse of not winning when it counted most, and led way to first WS appearance

@WestStC @thejaysnation 1. Joe. 2. Jose. 3 Alomar 4 Eddie

Coming in at #5 in the top 10 Blue Jays' playoff moments in franchise history. Ed Sprague's clutch pinch hit homerun in game 2 of the 1992 World Series gave the Blue Jays the lead and helped them win the game! 🎥 MLB
