OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT CYRIL RAMAPHOSA. @CyrilRamaphosa
Greetings from the Bushveld.
Sir, it is with great concern that I frequently notice that you and your party, the ANC, negatively refer to white people as if we do not belong in South Africa and are responsible for every failure of your government.
Please let me reintroduce ourselves.
We are an easy people, but not easy to tangle with.
We are soft hearted, but with a hard core.
We laugh easily, but know when to stop laughing. Humor is our way to handle crises, but we should not be pushed to lose our sense thereof.
We are peace loving, as you have seen in 1994, when we chose the path of sharing and not fighting, although we have this tendency to push back when the need arises. Please refer to the Xhosas, Zulus, English, Cubans, SWAPO, FAPLA etc.
We came here to stay and even took the name of Africa to refer to ourselves as "Afrikaners". We are not going anywhere. We even speak Afrikaans.
We have this word in Afrikaans: "Beneuk", which refers to a cantankerous bull or horse. Although we are easy going, we could also become beneuk.
You may see us as soft targets, but we are the most resilient people on the face of the earth. Please see what Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and generals Patton and Montgomery had to say about this.
We are God-fearing, but are also Christian soldiers.
So, please sir, stop blaming us for your mistakes. Own up to your own failures. Take our willing hands to help rebuild the land and the economy.
Or leave us alone.
Strongs with Phala-Phala, which is waiting for you.
Flippie van die Bosveld.
