@COWCATGames External dvd readers are inexpensive (I sell some on my storefront!), but the one nice plus to discs is their shelf life… most thumb drive usbs only are made to last 5-10 years, while dvds like the ones I use are rated up to 30 years!

@WetheIndies Personally I've been selling my own games on PC physicals for a decade, I make them directly myself.
USB key makes more sense now than disc considering it's cheap enough, almost no PC has a disk reader anymore and it allows to update.

This is so sick. Collectable physicals are a great way to get your game into the hands of backers when launching a Kickstarter. Even if they don’t use the physical product, having it physically on the shelf adds more art to backers walls and gives them something to hold.

@revealingangel My software makes the custom white-labeled installer for you with Inno Setup! You just input the basic data, and everything is automated! (jrsoftware.org/isinfo.php)

Something like this is perfect for me because I plan on doing the classic release for games I want to make discs, booklets, a disc case the whole 9 yards for my game!
