Labour had a chance to admit they got it wrong. Instead, Keir Starmer told Bridget Phillipson to gaslight the Commons with a shameless rewrite of history — pretending Labour had always been on the side of women. Nobody bought it. They claimed the govt accepts the Supreme Court ruling — yet Labour, SNP, and Lib Dem MPs queued up to attack it. One even called for puberty blockers to be brought back for children. They refused to criticise their unions who vow to ignore the law. Refused to apologise to Rosie Duffield. Refused to recognise the bravery of JK Rowling or Sharron Davies. I’ve always known what a woman is. I didn't need a Supreme Court ruling to say so. And under my leadership, the Conservative Party will hold this government to account 👇

The sheer mendacity of Labour is breathtaking. Rather than accept they made mistakes Labour are trying to gaslight the public and rewrite history on the Supreme Court judgement. They must think all of us on here who received relentless abuse for taking this position have forgotten. I don’t say this lightly, but the Labour Party is lying to the country about its record here Keir Starmer swallowed trans ideology whole and was ready to open up women’s spaces to biological men. Anas Sarwar even whipped his MSPs to support the SNP’s bonkers self-identification bill. As recently as June last year Bridget Phillipson said men could use female toilets. Yesterday, she forced neutral civil servants in a government department to tweet a demonstrable lie. It is a total disgrace. Phillipson boasted to the unions that she scrapped the common sense guidance I published for schools last year on gender questioning children. If she wants to do something useful she can reinstate the guidance and show she actually cares about the safety of children and the rights of women and girls.

Saying “trans women are women” was never true in fact and now isn’t true in law, either. A victory for all of the women who faced personal abuse or lost their jobs for stating the obvious. Women are women and men are men: you cannot change your biological sex. The era of Keir Starmer telling us that some women have penises has come to an end. Hallelujah! Well done @ForWomenScot!
