What’s Bruin? 

Here are the #NHLBruins highest cap hits beyond 2026. Notice a trend? Seven of the top ten cap hits on the roster are set to expire in the 2029-2030 season. I have to imagine at least a couple of these names don't play out their entire contracts in Boston.

Now in back to back years, it is the absolute worst possible outcome for the #NHLBruins in the draft lottery. Unbelievable.

@RJ_W27 @dereknoble4real Tell me honestly who you would try to target in a DiPietro deal and what you think he would be worth. Because I do not believe it is anywhere near what you think it is. A desperate team might give up a 3rd round pick, tops.

@WhatsBruinBlog @dereknoble4real Tristan jarry got an additional 2nd round pick in a goalie swap.. Goalies also take longer to develop so not sure the 26 argument factors as heavily here You know how many teams have shit / incompetent goaltending and would LOVE to take a chance on him given bussi and vladar 😂

#NHLBruins players that I'd be looking to build around for the next 2-3 years: -Pastrnak -McAvoy -Swayman -Geekie -Zacha -Minten -Khusnutdinov -Hagens The rest you can send to the scrap heap. Boston is still 2-3 high end players away from being a contender.

@RJ_W27 @dereknoble4real I truly think you are vastly overestimating the value of a 26 year old who has not started a game in the NHL in 5 years. He’s been excellent in the AHL, no argument there. But no team is giving significant value for him. That’s just the reality.

@WhatsBruinBlog @dereknoble4real Minimal? There aren't many blue chip G prospects just floating around waiting for a look. He absolutely has significant value given the volatility of the position, coupled with his AHL dominance If Hagens makes your cut, you dont actually care about "proving it at the nhl level"

@xTitanUranus Arvidsson had a great year but he will be turning 34 and has an injury history. He’s not a long term piece

Tonight, we find out if the #NHLBruins will receive a top-10 pick in the NHL draft for the second consecutive year. There is a 58.2% chance that the Maple Leafs fall to either pick 6 or 7.

@RJ_W27 Until I see him play some NHL games it would be impossible to say he should be part of the future. But I’d much rather see him back up next year over Korpisalo

@WhatsBruinBlog Would you not tentatively consider Michael dipietro? Ahl mvp, goalie of the year. Times up or they'll have another vladar/bussi scenario. They have to trade korpisalo this off-season imo while he still has any value. Even if u need to retain a million i still say do it

@mchiaramonte121 He had a career year. Tough playoffs, but had an excellent regular season

@WhatsBruinBlog Not sold on McAvoy honestly, he’s hasn’t done anything noteworthy on the ice lately. He’s expendable.

@billyho179 He's not nearly good enough to warrant putting the other team on the powerplay 1-2 times a game. Not even close

@billyho179 If he didn't live in the penalty box, I would have given him more consideration. I do agree he's right on that line. The Bruins are lucky the Sabres powerplay was off. 37 penalty minutes in 6 games makes you a liability.

@Shawn_1121 Didn't have the best playoffs, but he did have a career year and was far from the issue this season. He really didn't have much support on his line once Arvidsson went down

@WhatsBruinBlog Zacha having 1 G on 30 playoff games makes it hard to extend him or having as a core player imo.

Pretty much the only thing Lindholm was consistently productive at this year was faceoffs (top 30 in faceoff win %, top 20 in faceoffs won). Pushing him to the wing might just erode whatever value he currently provides at that cap hit.

Where do the #NHLBruins play Elias Lindholm next year? Ideally, you have Hagens slotting in at center. You still have Minten, who they should absolutely keep at center. Zacha had a career year at center, and admitted that he's more comfortable there. Do you put 28 on the wing?
