Reminder for tonight's draft lottery: According to multiple team sources, the Flyers believe that if Toronto ends up in the top 5, they get that 2027 first rounder (originally property of the Maple Leafs) unprotected, and not top 10 protected. They believe that Toronto essentially already traded its 2028 first round pick in the Brandon Carlo deal in that situation. But they also are not completely sure if the league agrees with them. If Toronto ends up outside of the top five tonight, it's a moot point. Otherwise, expect the Flyers to ask the league to clarify.

Matthew Poitras is going to be a hell of an NHL player (most likely somewhere else) Not sure why people get stuck on numbers and not the variables There was a reason he was targeted by a bunch of teams at the deadline And he was the player in the currently in the AHL being talked about on all major outlets leading up to, and during deadline day Teams want him — stylistically speaking, he’s not a #3 C. His game is not about ‘energy’ and chasing people around and forechecking He’s a #2 C and BOS didn’t have a spot there because of a $7.75M contract was in the way — they really wanted him to make the team. Hence, why Sturm put him on wing to see if it worked. He said it himself, it was the hardest conversation out of all the players he had to cut Only because a player is not on your NHL squad doesn’t mean he’s not meant to excel…he’s going to be a good one
