This book is made to make you money. I remember when I first realized you could steal somebody else's 10,000 hours by reading a book. The first book that taught me that? Rich Dad, Poor Dad. I thought back to young Codie’s decision to buy a book that changed her life forever. I have a lot of respect for Kiyosaki's work, but I felt like there was something missing… Like if I really wanted to achieve an outsized level of wealth, Rich Dad, Poor Dad was not going to get me there. That made me realize I needed to write a book about ownership and deal-making. Because maybe there is another young Codie out there right now who needs the same thing. I'm sure of one thing: If you read this book and you apply what's in it, you are going to make money. And I think that if you become an EXPERT in what's in it, you'll be able to make more money than is reasonable to imagine. That is a big statement to make. But after working 3 years on this thing, I feel pretty damn sure about it. I believe in Main Street Millionaire. So fair warning - I’m going to be talking it up nonstop for the next few weeks. We have a dictionary of a book that came in that breaks down your personality based on birthday. We slapped a "display only" on it and leave it on one of our tables. Pretty much every day, people see it and end up spending extra time here. #retailhack

I'll browse social media of businesses around me randomly. I like to see if maybe there's insight to how our local community engages online. Was looking at one and was interesting to see their new products mimicking the bookstore selection. Imitation is flattery I suppose.

Remember remember the fifth of November

The book industry is having a conference in Denver where book owners meet/talk about the industry. One of the activities is taking field trips to local stores doing well. The Midnight Oil has made the list and will be bringing in 55 bookstore owners from around the US. 😬😅

Businesses invest in billboard ads for marketing. Instead, I'm going to buy a firetruck and slap the bookstore logo on it It's going to be called "Salamander" and numbered "451". #iykyk
