🧵How to Get the Most Out of Your Hard Work: Optimizing outcomes over inputs — A concept by Alex Hormozi (How this framework helped me developed the point system to help master @moneytaur_ concepts) Why do so many people work so hard but get nowhere in life? It’s because they focus too much on optimizing inputs rather than their outcomes. Your inputs don’t matter if they don’t lead to the results you want. Alex suggests that the first step is finding the input that most closely correlates with the outcome you desire. But I believe there’s an even more important step: truly knowing what your ultimate outcome is. Here’s how I applied this to my own journey: At first, all I cared about was going through @moneytaur_'s charts as quickly as possible. I thought that staying up to date would make me a profitable trader faster. But I was wrong. I started from scratch, studying his content from Jan 2023, archiving charts and tweets I thought were beneficial. As I went through each month, I got better at spotting zones, order blocks, FVGs, etc. It felt like progress. But in reality, I was optimizing for the wrong thing. I equated going through more charts and more tweets with getting better at @moneytaur_ concepts. This is where many people get stuck: they optimize their inputs, but not for the outcome they actually want. So I stopped and asked myself: Did optimizing for speed get me closer to my goal? No. What was my real outcome? To become a profitable trader using MT’s concepts. What does that mean? Consistently making money, seeing what MT sees, executing with the same precision. My raw outcome was clear, but how do I get there? I realized it wasn’t about speed—it was about accuracy and precision. I needed to recreate @moneytaur_’s charts with 100% accuracy. So I created a point system to track my progress. Each zone, trendline, Fib, FVG—every detail on the chart was a metric. My goal shifted to charting with perfect accuracy, not speed. This allowed me to see real progress toward my outcome. This change in approach made all the difference. Try this method for yourself, in any area—not just trading—and see how it works for you. Although there are more steps to becoming a consistently profitable trader, I believe accuracy and precision are foundational. Hopefully, as I progress, I’ll be able to share even more frameworks that will help shift your perspective.
