What did Goldman stand to gain from writing it and then pretending he didn't write it? Why would Good Will Hunting be better received by the public if it were written by a couple of kids from Boston than if it were written by a screenwriter with a number of hits under his belt already? Ultimately, when deciding to see a movie, does the public care (or even know) who its screenwriter is?

Given that Matt Damon is a turbo-lib and Affleck has a trans kiddo, this might be as good a time as any to tell y’all that the story around Good Will Hunting is fake. The scenario for Good Will Hunting was written by notorious Hollywood script doctor William Goldman, who also wrote Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, The Princess Bride, and All the President's Men. Damon and Affleck were cast to play the part of the penniless screenwriters who made it in Hollywood by none other than Miramax’s Harvey Weinstein. Good Will Hunting fit right into Miramax’s ‘90s recipe of making movies with broad audience appeal but enough veneer of intellectualism to win oscars (with vigorous campaigning). One of the most striking aspects of the entire Weinstein fracas is that Damon and Affleck were never asked, not once, not even when they went on Rogan, what they knew when about Weinstein allegedly preying on movie starlets. Affleck and Damon are ultra-wealthy and ultra-respected even though their entire career is built on a lie orchestrated by the most infamous conman and sex criminal in Hollywood history.

Also, the reason most projects in America are forced to cut corners due to higher ups wanting to get a project out the door faster, shown by those suburban hell places that pop up across america are assembled like LEGO pieces.
