This scene from Cat Soup (Nekojiru-sō) is so incredible... The part that starts from 2:38 makes me very emotional - I experience a small existential crisis and then a desire to live a life with not a minute wasted.

Today I added DualShock support to Yume Nikki PS. The future is now. You can now also walk while in first person now… and the game becomes very LSD Dream Emulator-like. 😳 (P.S. sorry for the loud controller sounds - hard to film and play at the same time!)

Today in mind-boggling PS1 effects: (fake) lights. They don't affect the objects in any way, just draw a cool halo... But it still looks nice. I stole the trick for rendering those halos from Ridge Racer 4. 😹

This is what peak PS1 development looks like I made my own serial to USB cable and it allows me to see printf output of my game when it runs on a real PS1! :D

I was looking at @Whitehole__ 's amazing reverse engineering of Ridge Racer Type 4 and saw this model. Man, my models are way too complex lol. Had I known that they were this simple, I'd have them done in a couple of days. Seriously their profile is a great resource for showing how older games were made which they did by deconstructing Ridge Racer Type 4. I still love the look of my cars tho, they look amazing and are probably good for this modern era.

Getting back on track! I modded the game to display an outline over every subdivided polygon on the screen, each color represents a different type of polygon (from the game's perspective).
