You are scared to take a 4 years course cos you’re 28 and by the time you’re done, you will be 32. Whether you take that course or not, in 4 years time you’d still be 32!

No job, I repeat, NO JOB is worth anxiety attacks, bad pay, mistreatment, or anything that makes you believe in yourself less. Read this twice, or three times if necessary.

This is a huge problem in gaming right now. A bunch of theater kids who couldnt break into Hollywood got jobs writing for game studios. But they dont give a shit about video games, they wanted to make movies. There is nothing wrong with games wanting to be cinematic but it has to be combined with good gameplay and most of these games are unplayable or glorified cut scene simulators.

You just can’t disregard a person just because they didn’t have a successful career. So many sharp, knowledgeable people are nowhere close to their potential. Not because of a lack of ability, but because life wasn’t kind to them.

Students often don't realize that after they graduate, the game eventually becomes 100% about what they've *actually done* and 0% about what they have the "potential" to do -- and this transition happens faster than they expect. This can be a hard truth for students who get used to hearing "you're going to do great things" and then never take action. But it's a welcome truth for those who are willing to put in serious work to get serious results.
