You just don’t know how difficult it actually is I’m building iOS apps from India, targeting the US & EU markets. The App Store gives you zero local boost because you’re not based there. No algorithmic love, no organic visibility. You’re already starting 90% behind before you even launch. Then you try to catch up with Apple Search Ads… RBI policies + Apple straight-up rejecting Indian cards make it almost impossible. Now you’re not just behind, you’re completely invisible while others race ahead. This is the brutal reality for Indian devs chasing global success.

@jonathanzliu I’ve tried a few subscription via stripe and was not a good experience as App Store subscriptions so I would not go with that option unless I’m not getting at least heavy discounted price then the App Store because cancelling the subscription is a big mess via stripe Link.

@om_patel5 The reason we see better designed apps on iOS because they can monitize anything nd everything on iOS, third party weather apps thrive because nothing is perfect! After trying Samsung, I’ve realized I don’t need 4 weather apps as the native app is nearly perfect.

you can truly build anything and people will pay. this guy vibe coded a weather app in 3 weeks and people are paying $50/year for it $50 PER YEAR. FOR AN APP THAT'S SUPPOSED TO BE FREE. he added a twist: the app generates a unique isometric pixel art city based on your location, weather, season, and time of day. every city has 100 different variations each AI-generated image costs $0.10 to make so he had to build a caching system and a subscription model just to not go broke the entire stack: swift + firebase + typescript backend. 100% vibe coded with codex and claude code he launched it on the app store, posted a few times on linkedin, got traction in sweden, then expanded globally

@sekachov It’s just an excuse! Reason behind failing of those product is simple, they don’t live up to the hype themselves have created. Check the flashy promos of Dot but product remained barebone until died! Feels like the ventures have only done to get venture fund.

i have one upsetting observation: all the beautifully designed AI tools we’ve seen so far (dot, humane, cobot) were basically dead on arrival, while complex, highly technical products (claude code, openclaw) gain mass adoption in seconds. we're definitely missing something.
