@Databusting @WhoTeacher What I find most interesting about this is that it doesn’t happen in secondary. It is a peculiarly primary problem. Worth reading @daisychristo’s Making Good Progress, especially the chapter 4 on descriptor based assessment.

@Databusting @WhoTeacher @daisychristo Remember: it’s not gap analysis. Teachers recording what they think pupils have learned cannot tell those teachers anything they didn’t already know. It’s not like analysis of a test. The objectives are broad and assessment is biased.

@Databusting @WhoTeacher @daisychristo Think it’s been done for so long in primary schools that teachers/leaders can’t see beyond it. Suggesting ditching it is met with incredulity. But many schools have stopped and the sky has not fallen.

@Databusting @jpembroke Well, she says yes. They give us an opportunity to take a snap shot of eg DT and identify where the issues are. I think we can get that from pupil voice, outcomes, curriculum....
