@NBA__Courtside He’s lying. Players/people are so obsessed with making it seem like their era was the toughest and realest and best. Did this NOT happen in Paul Pierces era???😭😭

Paul Pierce on Victor Wembanyama getting ejected: “In my day it’s just a offensive foul and we move on. In today everybody so soft you kick everybody out the game, oh he should be in jail for that elbow. Get that out of here, bro. It’s flagrant one let’s play on. Let’s play our best vs your best not let the refs dictate the series. All right here, give them some free throws let’s move on. Let them play.” (Via @NFGShow)

@AndrewKSchlecht I understand the "We all want to see Wemby play" voices, in fact Im one of them. However, I strongly disagree with making a suspension-decision based on the star-level of the player. If you suspend a bench guy for this, then you have to suspend the stars as well.

It’s funny how when Wemby does something wrong, and something players have been suspended for in the past, many are searching for reasons to justify it. If that were Ant, Shai, Jokic, or anyone else everyone would be calling for maximum punishment. And if it were Dort….

The arc on Chet's jumper really stands out this postseason. Doesn't feel like a shot he'd take or make throughout the majority of his career but has zero issues here. 48% from 3 thus far in the playoffs. Averaging 19-9-2-2-2 on 70% TS. Phenomenal player.

I’m genuinely so confused about what’s going on with Denver. They just feel like a team whose window is completely shut. Not something I ever would have said 2 weeks ago.

@BrandonRahbar Small but important tweak idea: Instead of giving playin-losers 2 balls and 8th seeds 1 ball, why not reverse it and incentivise winning: give 2 balls to the 8th seeds and 1 ball to the 4 play in losers. This way the playin games also incentivise winning.

The new tanking rule that states no team can get a Top 5 pick in 3 straight years would prevent teams from going on a Spurs like lottery luck run of drafting Wemby (#1), Castle (#4) and Harper (#2) back to back to back.

@SteveThunderfan Here is my question: The team played better without Dub this season. Is that a coincidence or would the, have regressed mid season either way? Or is bad-wrist Dub simply making the team worse? I have a hard time believing the latter, but I cant completely exclude that option.

Between Dub, Mark, and Shai quotes lately, it’s pretty obvious they understand the gravity of Dub’s wrist situation and acknowledge the possibility that it’s a real issue. So, I’m not really worried about it anymore. Either it’ll get better or they’ll fix it. They’re eyes-open.

@KevinOConnor You think the team doctors went up to him and said "Yes, you are allowed to karate-kick the ball in the net, go ahead."? What do you mean by "allowed" to do that?

Wemby is allowed to do this during warmups but he can’t play down the stretch as the Spurs blow a lead because of a “minutes restriction.” Make it make sense!

How often do you bring your kids to bed? Or bathe them (or with them)? Or read them a book? Tell them a story (that you made up)? How often do you just cuddle with them after they just woke up? How often do you kiss them and tell them you love them? Im curious...how often?
Justin Murphy@jmrphy

Am I just a monster? It's been 4 years since I became a father and I'm beginning to fear for my soul. The truth is I just don't like being around kids for very long. Historically, this is not uncommon among fathers, but today it feels almost illegal. It's causing me a lot of confusion and anguish. The ideal amount of time I would like to spend playing with my kids is probably about 70-140 minutes a week—roughly ten minutes each day, maybe 2x/day, taking breaks from work. My feelings of love toward them are perfectly strong, but if I have to watch them or entertain them for more than about 10 minutes my blood starts to boil. I just want to be working, or accomplishing something. I try to be grateful, but it doesn't work. It's 9 AM this morning, Saturday, January 3. It's a sunny, warm day here in Austin, and my four-year-old son is begging me to play catch in the street. I was drinking coffee, still waking up, so I didn’t really feel like it, but at this age his desire to play is insatiable. He begged and begged, so I conceded, and with a smile. I have no problem being a kind and loving father, the problem is only that I do not enjoy it. It's not that I'm trying to maximize my personal pleasure; it just seems wrong that I experience so little delight when my dad friends all claim to experience so much. It was beautiful. We live on a picturesque, tree-lined block. I am even relatively relaxed from the holiday rest. Playing catch with your son is supposed to be an iconic, peak experience. Yet for every single minute, on the inside, I just don't want to be there. I want to be drinking my coffee in peace. Then I feel guilty and absurdly ungrateful, and ashamed, when we're done. I know that when he is a teenager, I'll long to have these days back. I have all of this perspective rationally, and I've been very patient and steadfast trying to digest it, but nothing fixes me emotionally. Am I a terrible person? Or is my feeling within a certain range of historically normal and it's modern parenting norms that are off? Whether it's my fault or not, I don't even care, I just want to figure this out. Something is wrong and I no longer have the excuse of being new to this.

@MbarkCherguia That kid most likely "learned" to treat dogs like that from his parents. So imo its the parent's fault. Dogs are not toys and not slaves either. Especially with bigger dogs you need to know how to behave with them. Then again, too many people that have dogs have no clue...

@YRespectfullyK @dissproportion What you describe is NOTHING like what that guy described. He literally said he hates spending any time with his own children and the max he can put up with are 10-20 mins a day. This is only possible if you absolutely feel no love for them.

I love hanging out with kids (former kindergarten teacher). But I can absolutely sympathize. It isn't for everyone. You need a lot of patience, and a genuine zeal for watching kids learn and play. And even then, I have to admit there were days when a kid is trying to show me their 106th drawing of a fire truck this week and I briefly contemplate jumping out the window before putting on the teacher act.

Spending time with young children is often extremely boring to the point of irritation and frustration, and this guy shouldn't be dogpiled for asking if he's normal for feeling that way. Women in mom groups talk about this all the time without this kind of reaction!
