Across the food system, far too many jobs are defined by low wages, unsafe working conditions and inadequate benefits. This means that the people who grow, pick, process, and serve our food cannot afford to nourish themselves and their families. #MayDay #InternationalWorkersDay

The House just passed a #FarmBill that leaves devastating #SNAP cuts in place — cuts that are already forcing families into impossible choices between food, rent, and medicine. No Farm Bill is better than a bad one. Read more from @fractweets: bit.ly/4ueCEYW

More than 3 million people — so far. This is the steepest decline in SNAP participation in nearly 30 years. Economic conditions haven't improved as the number of people receiving SNAP has plummeted and the harm will only grow as the full brunt of H.R. 1's SNAP cuts take effect.
Center on Budget@CenterOnBudget

People with low incomes are losing food assistance at the fastest rate in decades, with SNAP participation dropping by more than 3 million people in just six months following cuts in the harmful Republican megabill. cbpp.org/blog/post-mega…

#SNAP enrollment dropped by 2.5 million in six months after the “One Big Beautiful Bill”—not because need decreased, but due to historic cuts and stricter rules. Hunger doesn’t disappear when support is cut—it grows. Read more: tinyurl.com/yc6mr2np

The best evidence shows that SNAP's harsh work requirement doesn't increase employment or earnings. It just cuts people off SNAP. Yet Republicans dramatically expanded this ineffective policy in H.R. 1, putting millions more people at risk of losing SNAP. newsfromthestates.com/article/snap-w…
