@TheGoldenDays Just like Windows ME, it was pointless because the previous Windows was still holding up. We needed 7 because 64bit was the new thing and unlike Vista and 64bit XP, it had good backward compatibility.

@ChibiReviews Senko-san. I know it's not romance (it should be) kind of manga but over 90 chapters for a MC's realization was too late and the kid at the end was kinda pointless. Sure it puts the manga to safe spot but come on. Same guy who went crazy for Professor Niyaniya.

@Rikkisan26553 @Pirat_Nation Legacy stuff are good (like Directmedia). The half baked webUI and AI and ads that made Windows "bloated". A lot of people want even old classic theme back.

@Pirat_Nation To be fair, a lot of Windows bloat is them trying to cater for legacy hardware so this might be a good thing but what are the odds that something crucial breaks because of this?

Microsoft is changing a Windows kernel policy that's been around for decades. Starting in April 2026, Windows will stop trusting certain old kernel drivers by default. These drivers were signed using a legacy system from the early 2000s that Microsoft retired in 2021. From now on, the Windows kernel will only accept drivers that are properly signed through the modern Windows Hardware Compatibility Program. Microsoft has also created a special list that will still allow some trusted older drivers to work.
