𝗜𝗠𝗣𝗗 𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗖 𝗗𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗔𝗿𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗛𝗲 𝗔𝗱𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗦𝗔𝗠 IMPD Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) detectives have arrested 32-year-old Dillon Kruger on the preliminary charge of possession of child sexual abuse material (CSAM). On April 4, 2026, IMPD Northwest District officers responded to Kruger’s home on a report of a suspicious person. Officers met with the complainant, who told them he had been communicating Kruger under the guise of a young girl and believed Kruger was in possession of child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Officers notified ICAC detectives and completed a report. Because the allegations against Kruger stemmed from vigilante-gathered information, they circumvented the legally defensible tactics required for criminal charges in Indiana. However, following this initial interaction on-scene, ICAC detectives initiated a separate, independent criminal investigation through established legal processes. On April 7, 2026, ICAC detectives conducted a consensual encounter in which Kruger voluntarily agreed to speak with detectives and allowed them to look through his cell phone. Detectives discovered evidence of CSAM in Kruger’s possession. After consulting with the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office (MCPO), detectives arrested Kruger on April 8th on the preliminary charge of possession of child sexual abuse material. This arrest occurred because detectives conducted their own independent investigation during which Kruger voluntarily spoke to them and miraculously had not destroyed all evidence after his initial encounter with police. Evidence obtained improperly or outside these procedures can undermine or derail an investigation, potentially allowing offenders to evade accountability and placing victims at greater risk of harm. If you suspect criminal activity or believe a child may be experiencing abuse, neglect, or exploitation, please contact IMPD immediately. Information can also be submitted to the DCS Hotline at 1-800-800-5556 or the National Center for Exploited and Missing Children Cyber tip line: 1-800-843-5678 or report.cybertip.org or Crime Stoppers of Indiana at 317.262.TIPS. We ask that you never confront individuals on your own. Your safety matters, and trained detectives are best equipped to respond and investigate. Working together, we can help protect our most vulnerable. An arrest is merely an accusation, and Kruger is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law. The MCPO will ultimately make the final charging decision. Case: IP260026746
