Our woman of the day is "Sue", It was once argued that Wiki articles about women needed to be created by women editors. We argued that Wikipedia has lots of articles about dinosaurs and only a few of our editors are dinosaurs.We welcome editors of any gender (or species)

Did You Know... that Edinburgh's "forgotten heroines", Eliza Wigham, Jane Smeal, Priscilla Bright McLaren, and Elizabeth Pease, were associated with the Edinburgh Ladies' Emancipation Society. Appeared 9 years ago today on #Wikipedia as Women in Red's first Did You Know.

@astro_meganne @Wikipedia @kerissa_k Nice work Meganne, pity there is no picture of her that is freely licensed. Maybe she could change the policy to allow RAeS photos to be freely used? US airforce and NASA manage to release free to use pics of their #visiblewomen... why not UK/EU too?

@ThirlwallAssoc @WikiWomenInRed No, there was no SOE link, a team of us worked exceptionally hard on this for weeks. The Guardian obituary is the best source for this but I am happy to share the work we produced too. There is nothing in the national archives.
