Many ask me to compare early season predictions to actual results. OK. Here are a couple recent ones. 2023 had a 30% chance to be above average. It did. Ended up with 20 names (plus two systems added at end). And all during an El Nino year. 2025 had a 10% chance to be below normal. It did. Only 13. During similar conditions to 2024 too, which was way more active with 19 (and many US impacts). So. What does this all mean? Not sure. Just trying to reason with hurricane season. Opinions of a busy season for some differ from others. Impacts in the end are the big storymaker no matter how many names.
