Since being elected to Congress, I have always supported balancing the budget. Tonight, I proudly voted ‘Yes’ on a resolution to balance the federal budget. This common-sense measure is backed by Americans across the country.

Tonight, I voted to PASS the Deporting Fraudsters Act. 🇺🇸 This bill cracks down on noncitizens who exploit taxpayer-funded programs like SNAP and Social Security, ensuring those who commit fraud are deemed deportable and inadmissible!

Last month, I voted to pass the SAVE America Act to strengthen election integrity. Today, the Senate has begun debate on the bill. It is time to get this bill across the finish line so @POTUS can sign it into law.

I met with members of The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, including Bob Furniss and Susan Furniss from Shelby County. Thank you for the advocacy you’re doing for people living with Parkinson’s disease.

It was great meeting with members of the Tennessee Corn Growers Association including Executive Director Amy McNeil from Weakley County and board member Radford McDavid from Obion County. 🌽 I appreciate the work you do for Tennessee’s agricultural industry!

I joined @MarkieMartin on @NewsNation this morning to discuss the ongoing partial shutdown. American security is an afterthought in Democrats’ political games—leaving borders exposed and TSA agents unpaid.

It was great meeting with my friend Jimmy Moody from Dyer County to discuss the issues facing the Mississippi Valley Flood Control Association. I’m grateful for your hard work advocating for the protection of West Tennessee’s farmland.

Since Hamas’ October 7th terror attack, antisemitic incidents in the U.S. have skyrocketed. The attack on Temple Israel is a reminder that our Jewish communities are under threat. We have a moral obligation to stand up against this hate. Thank you @JessicaDean & @CNN for having me on.

Democrats’ failure to fund DHS is putting our homeland security at risk. It’s time to pass legislation to reopen DHS and make sure our TSA agents finally get paid.

Democrats have repeatedly refused to fund DHS—leaving TSA officers unpaid and FEMA without the resources it needs. We’re one major disaster away from seeing the real effects of DHS not being funded. It’s time to get it done.

It was great to speak at the Four County Farm Bureau and hear directly from farmers in Fayette, McNairy, Haywood, and Hardeman Counties. Thank you to Fayette County Farm Bureau President Bill Walker and Matt Fennel with the Farm Bureau Federation for the invitation. It was also great to join State Senator @PageWalley for today’s discussion.

I was honored to attend and make remarks at the portrait unveiling for United States District Court Judge S. Thomas Anderson at the James D. Todd United States Courthouse in Jackson.  It was good to visit with and hear from former United States Senator Lamar Alexander at the ceremony. Judge Anderson has led a distinguished legal career practicing law and serving for 18 years on the District Court bench. We appreciate his service.

For nearly a month, Democrats in Congress have refused to fund DHS and end the partial shutdown. Their inaction is hurting TSA, the Coast Guard, FEMA, and other critical security operations. Do your job, Senate Democrats, end the shutdown.

The attack on Israel Temple synagogue in Michigan was rooted in hatred toward Jewish people. Antisemitism and violence against houses of worship have no place in our country. Thank you to the brave law enforcement officers and first responders who rushed to the scene, and thank you @Greta for having me on.

Steve Stamson, a good friend and long-time Shelby County elected official, passed away yesterday. Steve was a true public servant, serving as the Shelby County Juvenile Court Clerk and Shelby County Election Commissioner. Steve Stamson also served our country in the military in Vietnam. We will miss Steve’s warmth and generosity. Roberta and I are offering prayers Debbie and the entire Stamson family.
