Newport paedophile Scott Mullen, 32, was caught red-handed with a childlike sex doll and videos of babies being raped. Police acted on a tip-off and found he had downloaded 136 child abuse images and films between 14 July and 18 August 2024 (23 category A, 18 category B and 95 category C). Mullen, already a convicted sex offender from a 2017 community order for indecent images of children, later tried to pervert the course of justice by presenting a bogus report claiming possible innocence. He pleaded guilty at Swansea Crown Court to the images and the attempt to fool the court. Judge Geraint Walters told him: “These are real children being abused by sick adults” and branded him a dangerous offender who poses a high risk of committing further serious offences.
