For two years this exam has been successfully virtual and should remain as such for the physical safety of our OB/GYN workforce—the ONLY priority, regardless of ABOG’s financial obligations to the testing center. To that end, the cost of the exam has not changed.

@AnnalsofSurgery As an FYI, if you took "mesh failure" as a composite endpoint of recurrence+explant, n+1 for bio n+5 for synthetic the results are no longer significant overall (p=0.11 X^2). I don't think I'll freely use synthetic in contaminated fields based on these data.

@AnnalsofSurgery So recurrence in 40v22% bio vs synth overall and 50v6% in contaminated? Are we saying that synthetic mesh in contaminated fields out performs synthetic in clean fields? do those numbers not strike anyone else as odd? Synth explants (n=5) not counted against synthetic performance

No surgeon should use the term “surgery” as synonymous with “operation”. You perform an operation; surgery is a medical specialty that includes performing operations, but encompasses much more. “I performed a surgery today” denigrates the specialty. #MedTwitter #SoMe4Surgery
