🚨 $ICP: CYBERATTACKS ARE NOW COSTING MAJOR COMPANIES HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS — AND ENTIRE ECONOMIES BILLIONS 🚨 Here we go again. Lidl has disclosed a customer-data breach affecting online-shop users in Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands after attackers compromised an external IT service provider. The confirmed stolen information includes, • Customer names • Telephone numbers • Email addresses • Dates of birth • Customer numbers Lidl cannot yet exclude the possible exposure of passwords, delivery and billing addresses, bank details or payment information. The company has not publicly disclosed a financial cost. This is not an isolated incident. 🇬🇧 MARKS & SPENCER The 2025 cyberattack forced M&S to suspend online orders for approximately six weeks and disrupted logistics and store availability. Reported impact, • £324 million in lost sales • Approximately £136 million expected annual profit impact • Half-year underlying pre-tax profit fell 55.4% • £100 million insurance recovery partially offset the damage 🇬🇧 CO-OP The Co-op cyberattack forced the organisation to restrict systems and disrupted retail operations. Reported impact • £285 million direct revenue impact • £107 million impact on profitability • £86 million margin impact • £21 million in additional non-recurring costs 🇬🇧 JAGUAR LAND ROVER The cyberattack halted manufacturing operations and affected thousands of organisations across the automotive supply chain. Reported impact • £1.9 billion estimated economic loss across the UK supply chain • More than 5,000 organisations affected • JLR later reported a £485 million quarterly pre-tax loss following the disruption The pattern is becoming impossible to ignore: ❌ Third-party supplier compromised ❌ Centralised databases accessed ❌ Customer information extracted ❌ Operations suspended ❌ Supply chains disrupted ❌ Revenue destroyed ❌ Customers targeted with phishing and identity fraud This is why $ICP matters. Traditional applications are commonly assembled from: • Centralised cloud infrastructure • External identity providers • Managed databases • SaaS platforms • API gateways • Middleware providers • Payment processors • Security vendors • Multiple privileged administrator accounts Every additional dependency expands the attack surface and introduces another organisation, credential set, API, database or configuration that must be trusted and secured. $ICP enables developers to build applications where the frontend, backend logic, data and governance can operate through tamper-resistant canister smart contracts on one decentralised protocol. No platform is immune to software vulnerabilities, but reducing reliance on fragmented cloud infrastructure and third-party services can significantly reduce the attack surface. Less infrastructure. Fewer trusted vendors. Fewer administrator credentials. Fewer exposed databases. Fewer central points of failure. Cybersecurity spending keeps increasing, yet organisations continue building systems on the same complex architecture that creates the risk. The future isn’t adding another security product. It’s building on better architecture. That’s where $ICP stands apart. #ICP #InternetComputer #CyberSecurity #DataBreach #Lidl #MarksAndSpencer #JaguarLandRover #Coop #SupplyChainSecurity #ThirdPartyRisk #CloudSecurity #ZeroTrust #CyberResilience #Blockchain #Web3 ☕ If you enjoy my research and would like to support my work and help me accumulate more $ICP, donations are always appreciated. 🚨 JULY COULD BE THE MONTH EVERYTHING CHANGES FOR $ICP. 🚨 (Please repost) let’s flood X with the truth) The watchlist is stacked: 🚢 Cloud Engines ☕ Caffeine 🌐 OISY 💹 MULTI/DEX 🇨🇭 Swiss Subnet …and we’ve also been told to expect a special announcement before the end of the month. @PierreSamaties Individually, each of these has the potential to expand what the Internet Computer can do. Together? This starts looking less like a blockchain roadmap and more like the rollout of a complete sovereign cloud, AI, identity and DeFi ecosystem. The market is still valuing $ICP at around a $1B market cap while the technology is targeting problems measured in trillions of dollars. Sometimes the market takes time to catch up. If this roadmap starts landing over the coming weeks, I genuinely believe many people will wish they’d paid more attention. I’m staying patient. I’m staying staked. I’m staying bullish. $ICP 🚨 THE FUTURE OF AI ISN’T JUST INTELLIGENCE — IT’S VERIFIABLE INTELLIGENCE. The AI industry has a trust problem. How do you prove an AI model actually executed the inference it claims? How do you verify the output hasn’t been altered? How do enterprises, governments and financial institutions trust AI handling critical decisions without relying on a central authority? This is where the Internet Computer changes the game. Native on-chain computation. Cryptographic verification. Tamper-resistant execution. Smart contracts that can securely run application logic without depending on traditional cloud infrastructure. As AI adoption accelerates, verifiable AI won’t be optional—it will become a requirement for high-value, high-trust applications. That’s why I believe $ICP is one of the most overlooked technologies in crypto today. In my opinion, the long-term opportunity is enormous. Whether $ICP ultimately reaches a trillion-dollar valuation will depend on adoption, developer growth and execution—but the foundations being built today are unlike anything else in Web3. The conversation is shifting from “Who has the biggest AI model?” To… “Who can prove the AI can be trusted?” That’s where the next decade will be won. Free #ALPHA. DYOR. I usually find it funny when people try to analyse the internet-computer:native price and why it’s low and they go into network details, stats, and other data (just like an LLM would). When the most obvious answer is that this thing is being manipulated. Even if internet-computer:native quadrupled its CBR tomorrow, and gained a new country as a partner, the price can still be held down via long liquidations…the coin glass data shows us that clearly. There’s no reality wherein $ICP is worth less than useless memecoins, that is void of heavy manipulation.

What are the chances of a sustained #ICP recovery? Looking at the monthly $ICP chart, several things stand out: The launch was extremely abnormal. ICP debuted around $700+ That initial price was driven by very low circulating supply, exchange mechanics, and intense speculation. In my view, that price should not be considered a fair measure of intrinsic value. The market has spent years repricing ICP. The long decline from over $700 to around $2 represents one of the largest drawdowns in #crypto. Much of the forced selling has likely come from token unlocks, early investors exiting, and a collapse in speculative demand. The recent price action is relatively stable. Rather than continuing to fall vertically, the chart has spent a long time moving sideways. Long bases can eventually produce significant rallies, but they don't guarantee them. Could ICP ever reach $700 again? Unlikely IMO Not because the technology is poor as it remains one of the more ambitious blockchain projects but because: the circulating supply today is vastly larger than at launch, Many other Layer-1 networks now compete for the same capital. I think to get a more balanced perspective, we should ask Are developers choosing ICP over alternatives? Is total value locked growing? Are applications generating meaningful fees? Is network activity increasing year after year? If the answers become consistently positive, then the price can eventually reflect that. Looking only at the chart Technically, this resembles a market that has already suffered its "capitulation" phase. It doesn't look like a healthy long-term uptrend yet, but neither does it look like the relentless collapse seen from 2021–2023. The chart appears to be in a prolonged accumulation or base-building phase. Whether that base eventually resolves higher depends much more on fundamentals than on technical analysis.

@ICPLEGEND1966 I do a layman's terms overview of proposals, this 1 did flag to me though, I don't have the level of expertise to check these things out though, I did eventually vote yes, but wasn't overly happy with my decision in the end, glad you've brought this to a wider audience too though

$ICP Governance Update — Proposals 142725 to 142728 There are four new NNS proposals open, but they are not all the same. Three are routine Node Admin proposals. One is a protocol canister upgrade. That difference matters. Proposals 142726, 142727 and 142728 are Assign Node Operator ID proposals. They register new Node Operators under Node Provider bvcsg for on-demand type4 nodes: • 142726 — Add 6nyte in in-mu-001 • 142727 — Add efvby in sg-sg-001 • 142728 — Add 77xrq in us-pt-002 The important detail is this: type4 nodes do not receive rewards. That means these three proposals are not increasing node rewards, not creating new rewardable node capacity, and not changing $ICP tokenomics. Based on the payloads, they are low-risk administrative proposals for registering node operators linked to on-demand infrastructure. That is very different from Proposal 142725. Proposal 142725 is an Install Code proposal under Protocol Canister Management. It upgrades the Engine-controller Canister: Canister ID: si2b5-pyaaa-aaaaa-aaaja-cai Current commit: 6c4d31d69969a57e78cd17c237637592dd4fd960 New commit: 5b8bdb99e20659893f15df372053eb232b5512b3 The stated change allows the Engine-controller Canister to perform subnet membership changes directly. In plain English: This upgrade is designed to let people replace nodes in their Cloud Engines without needing the old process for every membership change. That is operationally useful. But it is also more sensitive. Subnet membership is not a small thing. It controls which nodes participate in a subnet. Any change to that process needs proper verification, because it touches the operational control layer of the network. So the issue is not simply: “Is this good or bad?” The issue is: “Has the code been verified, and are the permissions and guardrails correct?” For Proposal 142725, voters should check: • the WASM hash matches the built canister • the argument hash matches the empty upgrade argument () • the Git commit matches the proposal summary • the new function only allows the intended subnet membership changes • the access control model is clear • the change does not bypass expected governance safeguards That is why I separate these proposals. The NOID proposals are standard infrastructure administration. The Engine-controller proposal is a control-plane upgrade. Different risk profile. Different level of review required. My view: Proposals 142726, 142727 and 142728 look like reasonable low-risk Yes votes based on the payloads provided. Proposal 142725 should not be rubber-stamped. It needs proper review before voting Yes. This is what serious $ICP governance looks like. Routine admin moves fast. Control-plane changes get checked. Vote informed.

I voted on this yesterday and thought it was fantastic how positively most users had voted for it, this should firmly place node providers in they're place and accept responsibility for the network, if the threat of losing half of they're rewards is real, maybe they'll stop simply sponging and being lazy

🚨 $ICP JUST RAISED THE BAR FOR INFRASTRUCTURE ACCOUNTABILITY 🚨 This is what a serious blockchain looks like. While much of crypto talks about decentralisation, the Internet Computer is actively enforcing it through governance. Proposal and Motion 142724 introduces real consequences for node providers who fail to respond during incident response testing. Current vote position: • YES: 11.358% • NO: 0.624% • YES voting power: 90,747,216 • NO voting power: 4,983,914 • Voting open: 3 days, 13 hours remaining • Topic: Governance • Proposer: 54 No excuses. No free rewards. No payment without operational readiness. Two independent smoke tests were conducted to verify whether node providers could be contacted quickly during a potential subnet recovery event. The results exposed a problem: • Test 1: 55 of 79 node providers responded within 24 hours. • Test 2: Only 42 of 79 responded within 24 hours. • NNS coverage also dropped, with just 20 of 37 NNS nodes responding within 24 hours in the second test. The proposal is simple: ➡️ Node providers that failed to respond to either smoke test will receive 50% lower node rewards for three months. Why this matters: ✅ Rewards become linked to real operational performance, not simply running hardware. ✅ Faster incident response strengthens network resilience during recovery events. ✅ Governance continues improving the quality of the world’s most advanced blockchain infrastructure. ✅ Accountability protects everyone building on $ICP. This is exactly how a sovereign, enterprise-grade blockchain should evolve. Networks don’t become stronger by hoping operators do the right thing. They become stronger by measuring, verifying, and enforcing standards through transparent on-chain governance. Every proposal like this makes $ICP more resilient, more reliable, and more attractive for governments, enterprises, AI, financial infrastructure, and mission-critical applications. The gap between $ICP and legacy blockchains isn’t just performance anymore. It’s operational excellence. #ICP #InternetComputer #Web3 #Blockchain #DeFi #AI #Governance #Crypto #BuildOnICP #NNS ☕ Support my work: 1e672d038cebc619d93186418fa98f6499dbdb9cfdfac54f366c61a4a4ee4362

If we want to make the Lean Ethereum consensus chain aggressively more "lean", and add strong validator privacy (ZK-unlink deposit from staking activity from withdrawal, and re-anonymize stakers every day), here is a path: ethresear.ch/t/the-extremel…
