Found out I have duty on new years eve. I do look forward to duty turnover on new years day and saying "I've been on duty since last year" to the oncoming.

My freshman year of highschool a movie about a pandemic called Contagion came out. One character was a Public Health Service Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer. When I saw that I thought "I want to do that." Here I am an Environmental Health Officer in the Navy doing that.

As of today, the following U.S. Navy warships are in the Caribbean: USS Iwo Jima USS San Antonio USS Stockdale USS Jason Dunham USS Gravely USS Lake Erie USS Wichita USS Gettysburg There's also the MV Ocean Trader, a special operations vessel, and the USS Newport News, a submarine. The Gettysburg arrived in the Caribbean yesterday from Norfolk, VA. USS Fort Lauderdale was in the Caribbean, but is now in port in Mayport, FL. The Ford carrier group is still in the Mediterranean at the moment and was ordered west last Friday: USS Gerald R. Ford USS Mahan USS Winston S. Churchill USS Bainbridge

I got back a couple weeks ago but realized I forgot to post about it. Finished my first deployment in Jordan! It was a very interesting and valuable learning experience and got to work with some incredible people. Even got to go to Petra!

Guams weather is completely schizophrenic. It can be sunny at one time and then ten minutes later it is raining so much you can’t see 6ft in front of you.
